What about a TE? Do you think we'll sign a TE or make a trade for one or do you think we're fine with just Crumpler?

I'm not sure what will happen. DO we even need a receiving TE? We don't use them much. I think we need one, but I doubt it will happen in the high rounds, unless all this odd talk of Tebow converting to H-Back/TE is true.

I think we trade for one or we draft one or two low, but it seems clear that the TE position is not very important here.

It should be important, I think BB recognizes the importance of a TE with our struggles in the red zone this past season. The TE is very important in red zone offense and I think our lack of a TE/throwing to a TE is one of the reasons for our poor red zone play. I would expect the Pats to draft a TE somewhere in the 2nd round.

I understand what you're saying, but it seems to me we had a solid TE in Watson who played great early on but never seemed a priority.

Now that I think about it, I bet we draft a developmental TE and then go rummage sailing. A lot of really decent vets are going to be looking for work between now and September.

I can absolutely see this happening, not only with the TE position but other positions as well. I can see the Patriots being very active and making a good amount of veteran signings during this period.

Yep. As coaches become enamoured with their new toys and unwisely (in some cases) cast off perfectly good vets, I think the Pats will benefit GREATLY. I have a feeling an exciting WR pick-up could come from this too.

If crumpler is really busting his ***** like the articles say and he is trying to drop down to around 260-270 again then I think he can be a great all around TE for us and allow us to draft one of these good young TE's and develop them....If crumpler comes to camp in shape I will be extremely pumped about him this year....

now i don't want him the last time BB liked a WR and that WR said he would be a good fit the pats got chad jackson, lol

As soon as I read that I thought the same thing. Nothin to see there everyone. 1st round should mean passrusher, at least im hoping it means that! **crosses fingers***

I'd do it. There's a lot of choices for DE/OLB with 3 2nd rounders you'd hope if Bill really feels his guy is in that range, he'll do what it takes to get him or need be take him with the number one. However, if you have the chance to land a talent like that, you do it because it's also filling a future hole. I think this team has the flexibility to make a talent pick and still get anyone they need in the 2nd, JMO.
