But that 2021 6th round pick....!!!!
Sucks for DT but had to be done
Had to trade rather than cut in order to get rid of the salary cap hit that is now guaranteed...but ouch.
In the future, take one sec and read before you post a thread.
liked DT as insurance for Gordon and lesser extent AB(I think he will be fine). Jets though? Were they the only bidders?
Guaranteed money can be traded?
Hmmmmm a number just got freed up so AB might get 84 after all and Watson can have 88.
Speaking of our WR group that was the most reasonable move. Releasing or trading any other WR would hurt me much more. To the Jets - this is another story.
pick is in 2021
so Obi is coming back?
Wow, I really didn't expect that. Hope DT isn't too pissed about it.
Not a huge fan of making the Jets better at a position of major need, either. Not for a 6th round pick a year-plus out.
For a sixth round pick. Poor guy.
What? They couldn't wrangle a 4th rounder out of Simple Jet?
I want an OL.
If bill was willing to trade Thomas to the Jets he must believe theres not much left in the tank.
~$1.4 million of guaranteed salary will go to the Jets, while the Patriots would have been responsible for it if he had been cut today. The bonuses that have already been paid will stay on the Pats’ cap.
82 (Watson's number everywhere except here in the NFL) was available the whole time.
So right now we have an extra Roster spot for Watson.
Wow! I didn’t think there would any trades between Patriots and the Jets while BB is running the team.
