How do we know that? Chism may eventually be a good player but he’s never played in a real NFL game.

It’s myopic to think that last play or the ending of the game was on Douglas. He was tackled as soon as the ball got there. The pass was also behind the sticks on 4th down. It was a terrible play call.

All in all...I think most would say we had us going 2-2 in the month of September... Panthers just blew out Falcons 30-0.. these home losses are becoming annoying..

It’s early… there’s so much good out there, take away the bad and you’d have great football. They need to omit the bad and keep the good. Sounds simplistic, but it’s that easy.

Well.. I had us winning in week 1 and losing in week 2... Panthers have some play makers.. you'd love to have gonzo next game.. if we win next week 2-2.. and then 2-3 after the Buffalo loss.

Looks worse than how I remembered it. I thought they closed on him really fast, would’ve been close regardless but he removed any chance by stepping back.

I guess that I don't understand. Why should Douglas be active? We don't need 5 active WR's. Even if we did, why Douglas?

The ability of Douglas to be a productive WR in Josh's offense was questioned from the day Josh was hired.

After the minicamps and Training Camp, it was concluded that Douglas had won a permanent starting job as a slot receiver.

WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED?
1) Diggs, Hollins and Boutte seem well established as our top receivers, with Diggs well able to play the slot.
2) Williams is being developed, getting more reps each week and is doing well as our #4 WR (#4 WR's don't usually get lots of reps).
3) We really have little need for a 5th active WR since we now have 4 good WR options, plus the TE's and RB's.

QUESTIONS
A) Should we continue to have a 5th WR active until Williams is fully ready, understanding the #5 WR will get very few reps?
B) If we have a 5th WR active, should that be Douglas or Chism?
C) If we don't have a 5th WR active, should we activate Jennings? or perhaps even a newly acquired short yardage RB.

Kind of. I didn't like the Hollins signing but c'mon...he deffo shows value in the slot without taking reps away from Diggs and Boutte.

He's definitely not taken it to the next level yet. The kid has talent, but can he break through or will he fall short of fulfilling his tease like others from Tony Gaiter to TJ Moe?

Douglas and Chism are not completely interchangeable.

Douglas is a speed guy (4.44 40 on pro day) with mid quickness (4.28/7.05). Chism is a quickness guy (4.06/6.77) with not-so-great speed (4.71 40 on pro day) but more strength to defeat tackling.

I'm all for giving Chism a shot, but even I understand it's not a simple swap.

We got a lot of prodction from Diggs in the slot last week.

I'm fine with Chism being active instead of Douglas, but I don't expect that he'd get many reps. Williams is the one who should get more reps.

Deactivate him for Chism going forward. Absolutley useless in the receiving game.

Douglas is a losing player. He & Stephenson should be cut. There's no way the team isn't better off with Chism & Henderson taking those snaps.

Maybe next season for Stevenson. But right now he is still one of our better players on offense Maye, Henry…maybe Diggs or Henderson (though he hasn’t done much either).

I could see benching him next game but they don’t really have the option of giving up on him.
