I think the fact that so many of the game balls were found underinflated tends to point to science rather than human tampering. Do you have an idea how hard it would be for a ballboy to mess with 11/12 or maybe all 12 of the footballs with all the video cameras in the stadium going nonstop during the whole game?

It sounds like mission impossible to me. And how did the ball assassin, manage to deflate all the balls to around the same level - 2 lbs less or 1.5 or whatever with such precision in whatever limited time he had to do it, if there was ever a window to do it, under all that surveillance?
They don't have squat. I believe Belichick and Brady they've never given us a reason to doubt them why start now. They don't know what happened and this story should be over already. Maybe peyton should speak up for his fellow QB cause That's the only person that can do no wrong in the media eyes

Belichick never lied about spygate. There is nothing here. We need to press the pregame shows etc to show the high school science experiments all over youtube showing the drop.

You heard Brady's God honest reaction Monday morning when those stooges on WEEI asked him about "deflated" balls. He laughed it off in almost a maniacal fashion because that's the first time he's heard such a thing. Do you honestly think a sane person would do that knowing he had something to do with it directly?

Of course at the PC his tone was different. He was legitimately surprised how much this horseshit actually blew up and had to answer questions from several rabid vultures in the room. This whole thing is an absolute joke.

Dawkins already backpedaling, of course none of these media big mouths will be held accountable for their actions and they'll just start talking about the game as if nothing happened.

I'd love to see that. Any link?

if the colts planned this, dont you think they would take all contingencies to make sure that even if the balls did deflate they would be within the approved range?

which is kind of funny. rather than trying to find a way to beat the patriots and not be blown out again, Irsay was more concerned with creating a sting to try and "get them red handed!"

And the backtracking continues. Suddenly, presented with the idea of hot air being used by Pats the whole notion of "integrity of the game" is not longer relevant. No, now adjusting the gameballs like that is "ingenious".

Those people really have no stance on anything. Whatever direction the wind turns..

I don't think the "Sauna theory" is necessary or helpful. Even though it's not against the rules, it still implies we tried to pull a fast one.

Instead, I've seen plenty of math and physics by engineering-types both here and other places on the net that say the balls could have been filled by an air compressor in a normally heated locker room or equipment room (room temp in the low 70s and using a compressor is totally legal and normal), cleared by the refs, then brought outside into rainy 50 degree weather and the football's temp and pressure would drop like a rock by about 15%. Right around the amount the balls were alleged to be under regulation.

No saunas or or unusually heated air needed. Just a normally heated room and careful attention to timing and procedure. Impossible to prove any nefarious intent.

The Colts' balls behaving differently only indicates they were filled in different environments (outside vs inside). Not that either environment was intentionally unusual.

Are you implying that the refs locker room is the same temp as outside? Cuz that's where the backup balls are kept. Word is, the original balls were filled again at half and used for the second half.

Not implying anything. I am trying to speculate the "window of opportunity" and how much time that would be available to do something like this, if true.

The thing that bothers me is that there is a lot of mis-information out there that are not facts. For example, you indicated that the officials re-inflated the primary 12 footballs at halftime and they were used in the 2nd half. Then, I read multiple reports that they used the "backup footballs" in the 2nd half.

What are the true facts in terms of the footballs they used in the 2nd half.

Could you tell us the gist? I don't want to give it the click.

You don't want to give it a click. Trust me.

I regret clicking on it. I think the article is titled "Throws the Pats Out of the Superbowl". But I could be slightly off on that. I didn't stick around on that page any longer than I had to (and I have Adblock, at least the profiting for ads in my case).

Totally agree........there is absolutely -0- chance the Patriots legal team would have allowed BB & TB to conduct open press conferences if they thought there was even the slightest chance of guilt.

Exactly.

If they lied it would be a PR disaster of epic proportions and Kraft would be forced to part with BB and TB.

That's why I was mostly nervous up until after Tom's press conference. Once they both denied any knowledge it was a big time relief.

The Patriots are making some type of big announcement any minute now. No idea what it's about, but we all know what's on everyone's mind.
