Ok, don't worry about the money. We know that the Patriots can make the numbers work. Let's assume they keep Edelman and Blount, and choose from the above as their only big FA moves. All other issues would have to come from bottom feeding in FA, and from the draft.

Who ya got?

Talib & Revis, no doubt. I think having the two of them will only make McCourty better and lessens the need for another good safety.

I go with Talib first because we have no clue where Byrd or Revis go. If we are guaranteed to sign them at a similar price i go
1. Revis
2. talib
3. Byrd

Talib + Revis.

McCourty and Harmon at safety. Then you can cut Arrington and have Ryan and Dennard as your other CBs. Use Arrington's money to add safety depth. Or heck, see if Arrington can play safety as well.

Two of the best CBs in the game on the same team? Sign me up.

Talib & Revis.

Lock down both the #1 and #2 WR, the front 7 can have some very creative blitzes with those 2 on the outside.

You LOSE money by cutting Arrington.

Of any scenario here, Revis is the top of the board. He's the best DB in the league.

Talib and Byrd. Solidifies the entire back end and gives the Pats one of the best safety combos in the league.

I want to know first: Was it firmly established last season that Revis's surgical knee is 100-percent healthy and he hasn't lost anything?

Talib + Lamarr Houston, for me.

But if those are the only options, then Talib+Revis.

Really? I didn't realize that cutting Arrington would actually hurt the Pats. Oh well then, let him be a backup S, or see if Dennard can do that. It's a problem I'd love to have if it meant having both Talib and Revis here.

This is how i see it. Byrd with McCourty would help the entire secondary as a unit and really help the young CB's. If they can get Talib back then that's great, I had pretty much written him off when i heard the Skins were going after him because i couldn't see the patriots coming close to 140 million over 5 years with no conditions.

I choose Talib + Revis, only because I feel like Byrd is somewhat redundant with McCourty's skillset. I'd prefer having the two shutdown corners with a hard hitting safety taken in the 1st round if available.

I'd take Talib and Revis. It would make the Pats one of the most stacked teams in the league at corner, would just about guarantee that Arrington gets cut in 2015, and in the mean time it's hard for the second safety to not be serviceable when he's lining up alongside those two and McCourty. Plus the defense would take a less dramatic step down when Talib gets hurt again.

Arrington becomes cuttable in 2015.

Kyle Arrington Salary Cap, Contracts, Salaries, Cap Hits, & News Profile

My guess would be that he gets cut roughly twelve months from today. With the emergence of Ryan and Dennard, you have to figure that he'll be CB4 at best, and you should be able to hold down the fort that far down the depth chart for less than $1.4M. Plus cutting him in 2015 clears the books of his $5M cap hit entirely in 2016.

These are the type of things I hate reading, gives you a boner for no reason.

Love choice #3....who said Deus was incapable of making a funny? Charlie Babbitt?

He was one of the best corners in the league last year - if not the best - despite playing in a scheme that didn't fit him at all.

In a word, yes. He's still arguably the best defensive player in the league, and that's why this is a simple choice.

Now if there was a third option of Revis + Byrd...
