I think it’s unlikely that Maurice Harris is/will be ahead of dorsett. No doubt they are competing but imo dorsett has a clear leg up.

But it's fair for some posters to believe there is more upside to Harris, and thus an edge.

Doesn't matter. It's a wide open competition and everything is opinion.

Let me break down your points.
This is just an attempt to throw shade to distract from your terrible argument.

I hope you can to, that’s why I responded and asked you the questions that would lead you toward understanding.

I never said that but in this case, you are wrong by definition if you are trying to say you know who blew that coverage and if you are trying to say Gilmore wasn’t fantastic in that game

I never said that either which you know. But the only way to cover up that you are wrong about the one specific thing we disagree with is to pretend I am saying more than I am. See how that works?
Gilmore May have blown that coverage. Either he did or the safety did. But you don’t know. I am sure Gilmore has played the wrong coverage at some points. I would imagine less than 5% of the players in the NFL have never player the wrong call.

What’s wrong is you are trying to trash Gilmore when he played pretty much the game of the year by a corner (especially if the safety blew that play) by pretending you know he blew that play, when you don’t, and ignoring the other 60 plays of the game.
Gilmore like every player makes mistakes. You just picked a poor example to try to hang on him and you are too stubborn to accept it so you play silly childish games.
I’m done.
Andy, please! No! We need you Andy! Don't leave. I'm still an idiot and I'm always wrong. I need to know how to never make a mistake like Gilmore. He's perfect. So are you. I'm just an idiot and a clown. Help me, Andy Johnson. You're my only hope.

We need Gordon back

I have been saying this. Gordon back would make us unbeatable. Without Gordon we'll still average 27 but there is danger that we would lose in the playoffs to a team with elite DBs.

They say it takes a couple yrs removed from the ACL... Jules proved otherwise but let's hope rivers found his burst

The hardest thing to get over with an ACL Tear is the mental aspect and being able to trust it. I Torn mine and it took me two seasons worth to have full confidence in it. Imagine that's harder for someone like Rivers due to his age and where he stands on the roster.
Jules is just a special guy to recover like he did

I suppose but that’s just a matter of blindly hoping the guy is better than we have any legitimate reason to believe he is. I would be very pleasant surprised if he gives us as much as dorsett did and think it’s a long shot.

I'm trying to think of the Elite DB's we could come against in the play offs and the only team i can really think of is the Jags? Or am i just being thick?!

not sure but DB play varies a ton from year to year. Chargers can be a threat but not if they play cover 3 again. Ravens could be dangerous if Lamar is improved. They got Thomas and Humphrey and could make things difficult if our receivers don't get seperation.

Of course not. I’m opposed to the viewpoint that without Demaryius and/or Gordon as part of the group there is any real chance of it happening.

If we went out and improved the position so that a solid wr3/wr4 had no room on the roster I would be thrilled but we didn’t.
Thomas? He might not even make the team.

Only if he can’t get healthy.
If he can’t and Gordon remains suspended you better hope Dorsett is healthy, happy and safe.

I think life will go on just fine without Dorsett

I’m sure it will, but I like like when it includes Sb wins.
Hard to face going into week 1 with a broken thumbed Edelman and no wr or te in the roster that every played a snap with Brady.
Dorsett was a vital part of the team at times last year and we are weaker at the position this year, at least at this point.
Truth is if we kept berrios instead of dorsett last year it’s very likely we don’t win the Sb. (One loss in games where he was key would have made us 10-6 and killed seeding)

That was last year, Andy.

Is Edelman going on PUP?

When you look at this defense and project what Rivers best case would be, it’s exactly what would elevate the defense the most

Think so? I think pennel is a big upgrade and Collins too. If rivers could give you 3-4 sacks and multiple pressures being part of a rotation that would be a positive step. How many game was he not active last season?

The DL will be at least as good as last year. Back 7 will be better. Top 10 DVOA defense, top 3 scoring defense.

They were pretty bad stopping the run at various point early in the season... I'm expecting a whole lot more

on a SB champ, so that’s wrong.

Dorsett came through for us a few times and I'm overall a fan, but this is typical specious reasoning from you.

Trent Dilfer was QB1 on a SB champ so let's throttle back on being on a roster as being a checkmate on someone's abilities.

I want you to be right but this seems like you're significantly underestimating the void left by Flowers.

Also I'm gonna be pissed if Rivers finally comes into his own in what I'm guessing is a contract year. I mean it's better than him becoming nothing but if he lodges a bunch of sacks and then gets a good contract from a rival that will kind of annoy me.

Is Edelman going on PUP?

Edelman has an injury history, though. Even if he isn't placed on PUP and starts the season, it's good to have another veteran who knows the playbook and has played with Brady before. Say there is an injury to Edelman in the middle of the season - you then have at best a WR corps of Harry, Dorsett, Gordon, Berrios, and Thomas. That can win us some games, even without Gronk.

How am I underestimating it?

Flowers is gone but we got Winovich, Pennel and Bennett. It's a wash for me worst case.
