It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I didn't expect him to dedicate his entire career to the Patriots organization but I am mildly surprised that he didn't even mention that he won a Super Bowl in that announcement.
If it makes you feel any better, he didn't even mention the team that helped make him filthy rich and a HOFer.
...I feel like if I won a Super Bowl I'd mention it as a high point of my career.
The highpoint of his career (beyond oodles of cash) was apparently "... passion to play the game at an elite level brought fun and excitement to the term “shutdown corner” which was nearly on the verge of extinction." Mevis at his self absorbed best. In his prime the guy was as good as there was, the only thing that outstripped his talent was his greed and narcissism.
I didn't say anything about the Patriots not being mentioned, but I feel like if I won a Super Bowl I'd mention it as a high point of my career. Wouldn't even have to say the team I got it with. It never really seemed like he cared about that stuff much though. I think he joined us to get a ring, but only as a means to make himself more desirable for a monster contract (and it worked).
I guess this is the formal announcement. Informally, Revis retired March 10 2015, the day he signed that 70mil deal with the jets.
Great player and the ultimate mercenary. I don't think he actually cared much about winning or losing other than how either one affected his bottom line financially.
Why would he interrupt a statement about how great he is in his own mind with reference to a team success?I didn't expect him to dedicate his entire career to the Patriots organization but I am mildly surprised that he didn't even mention that he won a Super Bowl in that announcement.
