Curran Believes Jones is 'Making an Enemy' Out of Belichick

I don't care... I'm tired of Mac Jones at this point... yeah maybe he's in a ****ty position with Matt calling plays like hes a 12 year old playing Madden, but still... it seems like its pulling teeth for him to complete a pass... Two years in and tell me what he's done that impresses you...

Put in Zappe for the rest of the season... see what he's got, now that there is some film on him... we know what Mac offers, nothing but excuses... worst case scenario is we get a higher draft pick

If the team wants to play hardball, no, but if Mac wants to be a pain in the ass he could make things difficult.
Then he will make it difficult on his ass when it feels the pain of riding the bench.

I agree. Jones has no leverage. He'll either not play, or be moved. Belichick would be the last one standing in that situation. Unless he was to tell Kraft otherwise.

Trade him to the Giants for Kenny Golladay.
Change of scenery.
We spent a first on him we will be lucky damn lucky to get a conditional third.
I said I think it was week 7 he was turning into Josh Rosen.
That’s exactly what we are seeing here if he is traded so soon.

Curran is now Gladys Kravitz. LOL
I liked the first Gladys more.

If Jones isn't careful, BB will get angry and do something crazy like, I don't know, say changing the offensive scheme. putting obviously incompetent people in to the roles of OL coach, QB coach and Offensive coordinator, trading away the team's best offensive lineman, antagonize one of the team's top 2 WR options from last year, get rid of the FB position, and then throw him under the bus if he struggles in a game after he gets injured and tries coming back a week too soon.

I agree trading Mason was not a wise move. However, some posters say he wasn't very good last year. PFF graded him among the top G's in 2021. We all know PFF has bizarre ratings. He's probably somewhere in the middle last year.

How would you say Mason is doing in TB this year?

What's your point? Are you trying to say Bill did all this on purpose to somehow spite Mac already? Or are you saying that if Mac crosses him he'll make all the same mistakes again this time on purpose for spite?

I think Mac get's these last Three games to prove it if Mac flames out. I can't see BB making year three a prove it year for Mac he hasn't shown that much. I think BB is Coaching two more year tops he has a very good Defense who should get even better. I think he's going all in to fix the Offense in FA and Draft to make a serious two year run but I don't think Mac Jones will be our signal caller.

The problem about playing Zappe for the next 3 games is that he'll be so good we'll get offered multiple firsts by several NFL teams. Wouldn't we be better keeping the Zapp under wraps and let him explode all over the NFL in 2023?

It's tough to evaluate individuals in that offense this year. So, I'd probably just say that Mason has been the absolute least of the Bucs OL problems this year when you factor in Wirfs' injury and missed time, and I'd say he and Wirfs have been the only strengths on that line.

shaq mason wasnt good enough to get all worked up over about moving him...

His point is that 100% of the blame belongs on Bill's shoulders. I can't disagree with that.

My point is "So what?". I find it interesting that, as this has played out in the way so many thought it would, which was that BB's machinations could/would lead to a really-bad-to-disastrous year on offense, people continue to try making this an issue about Jones, when it's so clearly a Belichick problem. If BB wants to make an enemies list, he needs to start with himself, because he's been a freakin' disaster for the Patriots, and for his own legacy, this year.

BB should have known this was a train wreck waiting to happen and taken steps to minimize the possible/likely negatives that so easy to see. So if he wants to be pissed off at his QB because his' QB isn't sufficiently meek as to quietly put up with all of this ********, then let him. Functionally, it won't make any difference at this point.

Or, to put this another way, how many good, healthy teams with a good QB, and in good weather conditions, has Belichick beaten since Brady left, that we should be worrying about BB having a case of the mads instead of worrying that BB's screwing up the so-called rebuild?

PFF has him at #17 out of 86 overall and in pass blocking and #21 in run blocking.

Strange is #67 overall, #39 in pass blocking & #70 in run blocking.

Onwenu is #3.

I wish we would've kept Mason and drafted a WR or CB in the 1st round.

Or you could hunker down and try and work harder to get something out of it. The QB in 2006 did it when branch was traded away and had fare below avg weapons and he had far more value than the current one to push for a trade.
Regarding BB firing , purely from a record basis , last 3 yrs arent the worst. any new coach willl take some more rebuilding yrs or trade away picks to win now because new coaches have a small window to win or get fired. So lets been careful what we wish for.

Brady is the GOAT. Cannot compare him to Mac Jones.

I can sympathize with Mac for his situation. I would prefer he didn't act like he did. But even if Mac was playing like last year with at least some second year progression, this offense is such a mess that he couldn't overcome it. In fact, I don't think 2006 Brady could overcome the deficiencies of this offense.

And as for Belichick potential firing, it would be mostly because of this year. Again, can you name another coach who could survive putting a defensive coach as the OC AND o-line coach and have the offense be as big of as a disaster as it is and keep his job? I wouldn't give an experience OC both the OC and o-line responsibilities, never mind someone with no experience in either category.

I admit I gave Belichick the benefit of the doubt before the season and thought Patricia could work. But that was because of "in Bill we trust". I would have probably mocked another team that did it.

Zero.

I think the trade down turned out to be great value but I’d have to agree Guards can be found later on. A Wr that some is us where clamoring for, Christian Watson, should’ve been the pick at 29.
