Crowd chanting "Let's go Red Sox"

Other than some members of Pink Hat Nation that think the Patriots are guys with muskets and tri-cornered hats, I would have to say the majority of fans at Fenway Park are Patriots fans as well. I was at game 6 saturday night and there were plenty of Patriots gear to be seen (including my throwback Pat Patriot baseball cap). And did you watch game 7 last night, behind home plate was someone in a Rodney Harrison Jersey (you didn't even need HD to pick it out of the crowd).

lets go redsox lets go redsox lets go redsox :rocker: :rocker: you are clueless

No buddy, I'm with you!

Let's go BankofAmericaSox! Let's go BankofAmericaSox! Let's go BankofAmericaSox! :rocker: :rocker:

Can you even BEGIN to imagine how successfull the Patriots would be if they were allowed to have a payroll TWICE that of their competitors such as the Colts? Any management team that fails to win it all with that much of an advantage would display prima facie evidence of incompetence.

Why would you waste your time cutting down you home baseball team?

Truth can be disturbing, can't it?

Re: crowd chanting "let's go Red Sox"?

It's a very stupid thing to chant at a football game. The Pats players don't like it.

do you have a link to were the players are saying they don't like it. I would be surprised if it were true.

Amen. MLB is a financial farce masquerading as sport.

It's ok if you don't enjoy it. But your opinion is shared by few in New England so it may not be a bad idea to keep it to yourself.

Because the rest of us Pats fans LOVE THE RED SOX!

How 'bout them BC Eagles?:rocker:

Idiot...

You talk as if the salary cap has been in place for decades. Football was the EXACT same thing for the vast majority of its existence.

So anytime you wanna talk proudly of NFL history and all the great teams, remember, the salary cap didn't exist, you hypocrate!:rocker:

WOW! So there are all 2 of you agreeing on this

...maybe you should get a room?

Waiting for a reply from the Dopes!

Tunescribe, did you grow up in New England (North of Conn)?

Why do people here hate the Red Sox for so much attention? Out of any team in sports the Pats have gotten the most attention easily this year. Whether it was spygate or the hype that we may go 16-0 or Best offense ever?

I believe that is why many people here hate the Red Sox because they get too much attention or something.

I think it just might be that a lot of football fans really don't like baseball. They are way different sports. So when people talk about baseball in a football forum, it gets people worked up. I'm a baseball fan, but do think baseball should just stay where it belongs.

What's this got to do with the here and now? Stay on topic, numbnut. But as long as you're going there, I seriously doubt you'll find the financial disparity between pre-cap era NFL teams to be anywhere near where it is with MLB. Honestly, didn't you flat-out EXPECT Boston to beat Cleveland because of payroll differential? Don't you EXPECT them to beat Denver for the same reason? (I.e., stacking the roster with better players because they can afford to.)

Like a moth to a flame, I am drawn to this thread and have to comment upon it, for it is certainly the STUPIDEST thread I have read on this board...

I understand some people prefer football to baseball, the Pats over the Sox, etc. and that some may root exclusively for one or the other. But, I am 49 years old, and "learned" my sports from my parents, both of whom are over 80. The VAST majority of Boston sports fans root for ALL of the teams. It ebbbs and flows due to the relative success or lack therof (but, even now the Bruins regualry sell out...) I can think of scores of my family, friends, co-workers, etc. who right now are taking equal joy in both the Pats and the Sox. If someone out there doesn't like one to the exclusion of the other, that is fine, but you are in a distinct minority. If you believe otherwise, sorry, you are just dead wrong.
As for the cheer at the game, so what? Those same fans who did the Sox cheer took the time and trouble and money to support the Pats on the road. It there are Pats players who don't like it, as much as I love them all, well, too bad...if that is the biggest thing they have to complain about, then life is good. Those are the same fans, figuratively speaking, who went to the Snow Bowl game, and who (like my father) had season tickets back when it was Schaefer Stadium and the team sucked.

Why can't you stop talking about the Red Sox?

You have twice as many posts in this thread as any Sox fan.

I really have never got this. If anything hating the Red Sox indicates the Pats fan is more likely to be a BANDWAGON fan. I gew up on the Cape and therefore I am a Pats, Sox, Bruins, Celts and Rev fan. Did not go to a major college (that I graduated from anyways ) So I am stoked about the Eagles being #2 also (that is the only bandwagoning I do...but I don't pretend I am some big time BC fan..I just root for them to win every week)

SO...I know some are from other places so they might not be BOSTON fans so that doesn't mean they are bandwagoners...BUT if you are from the area and root for another BB team than the Sox...well they do have a term for it IMO.

Don't like baseball? Cool, I think it is a pretty boring game also...did like hanging out in the bleachers at Fenway during a day game though rooting on Evans and the Sox growing up.

I saw several Pats caps in the Fenway crowd last night during a GAME 7!!! They should have been kicked out of fenway!!! How ******ed some are.

Tune you really need to check your unhealthy obsession at the door you are out of control about this stuff.

The Pats are easily my number one team...it isn't even close even during the dark years. I relish the SB victories more than the 2004 WS victory. I get sunday ticket so I can see every game, I fly a custom made Pats flag every game day...Sox...I have a jersey and during the playoffs I will wear it. If my girlfriend wants to do something during the Sox game I will miss it and do something with her...she knows better to even ask or make plans when the Pats are playing!

WTF is so wrong about being fans of the Boston teams? I would venture that 75%+ of all Pats fans are Sox fans and 90%+ of Sox fans are Pats fans. WTF is the big deal?

I loved the Randy chant (hope it means something to him and he will take a "hometown" discount for us next year)....I see nothing wrong with the Sox chant...oh and Tune...your Brady quote doesn't say he can't stand BB chants it says he doesn't care. Another poster just posted where Brady was asked today about the Sox chant and he laughed and thought it was great.

Also finally the Sox are in the Playoofs and it was a game 7 to go to the WS...the Pats were blowing out a 0-6 team! If the Sox were on at the same time as the Pats I would still have the Pats on the tube and the computer set to the sox score and flip during commercials....but why can't we like both teams?? If I root for the Sox it makes me less of a Pats fan? That is the ultimate in ******ed statements!

The Bruins MOVED their regular season game to not conflict with the Sox GAME 7 PLAYOFF GAME for BOSTON fans...WTF is wrong with rooting for the hometown teams???

Anyone NOT rooting for all of the teams is MUCH more likely to be a bandwagon fan period. People HATING on the other teams, that is just petty.

I can remember a time when there were close to zero Pats fans at away games. Now, I hear just as many cheers for the Pats as I do for whatever the home team is. Most likely these are transplanted fans that have grown up as fans of all New England sports teams, and don't get a chance to express their love for their teams as often as folks still living in New England do. So when the biggest team in New England is gearing up to play an important game, then I feel proud that the baseball team that I root for can have a pep rally for its fans during an ass whooping by the football team that I love in a stadium 1200 miles away.

Well, FYI, I've been to every single Patriots home game since 1993 plus numerous away games and two Super Bowls.

But aside from all that, I credit you and others in this thread with helping me drop my unhealthy obsession and finally see the light. I will now root lustily for the BankofAmericaSox, as it does no good to denegrate the No. 2 salaried team in all of professional sports -- the Desperate Housewives reunion last night with Kevin ("Look At Me!") Millar notwithstanding.

Tune, you can root for whatever team you like, but do you see any contradiction in calling them the Bankof America Sox, while you sit every weekend in Gillette Stadium? I mean, the Pats have an official MRI provider...you think Kraft handed out that designation for free?
The Pats are every inch the big business that the Sox are, as is virtually every major league team in every pro sport.
