could we win the SB even if we made it there?

Of course no team that does not make the Super Bowl can win it. I would say it would be doubtful the team could win it if it was made up of posters who ask questions like this.

I like being the underdog. I like when the pats have a chip on their shoulder and want to prove something. The Pats get no respect this year which will help in my opinion.

This year would be one of the sweetest ones if it were to happen. They were written off by so many after the Pittsburgh game and Gordon leaving, I know there was similar talk in early 2014 but not to this degree.

The 2011 giants were arguably the worst team I’ve ever seen win. This teams better than that one.

Anything could happen, but obviously this isn’t one of the strongest patriots team entering the playoffs.

Don’t want to get too far ahead of myself but best case scenario, we win the divisional playoff and somehow win the AFC championship, could we beat the rams or the saints?

Why not?

No, we should give up now. And since they have plenty of startes on the long-run, why even bother trying next year?

Honestly, the stress prevented could save lifes

The year after that as well at the point brady will be toast this saves us 3 years of stress

Yes they could.

I honestly don’t see a single team besides the Saints, who look a notch above everyone else.

This is the first year in a long time where I feel any team could make and win the Super Bowl.

If I fell asleep and didn’t know and you told me the Super Bowl was Seahawks vs. Chargers or even the Cowboys vs. Ravens, I’d probably believe it.

The Patriots have as good of shot as anymore to win it this year, as crazy as that sounds with the way this season has been.

Well, we sure can't win the game in Atlanta if we don't get there first, bub.

This is a weird year for the NFL. Saints really look like the only majorly consistent team.

If the Patriots regain offensive form with the added rushing attack and the defense holding istelf together... There isn't a team in the NFL we couldn't beat. But I have no idea what to expect.

I really want to see fired up Tom. I want to see it so bad. I don't care if it's not the wildest passing attack game, I just want Tom lit up. If Tom is fired up, Gronk is fired up and Edleman is fired up.

Edleman and Grnok play for Brady it seems like. I need a firey Brady, damnit.

I agree. I thought their 2007 team had no business being there as well. 2012 Ravens & 2015 Broncos were garbage.

Anything can happen come playoff time. We all know that far too well.

Yes, they could win it

2001 Pats were a better team than the 2018 Pats.

I can imagine the howling if this team had only a career special teamer and part time slot receiver on one side, a guy who was recently carrying sacks of coffee beans on the other, no depth at all at WR and a 6'2" TE with 14 receptions plus a blocking TE with less.

The group that writes the team off more than anyone else is the group on patriot message boards.

The power ranking has the team as 8th best.

The bettors have them as the 4th most likely to win the SB.

I suppose some could call this "writing the patriots off". I would disagree.
Odds to Win Super Bowl LIII: Entering Week 17, Playoff Landscape is Wide Open

As far as the mediots, I don't see patriots being written off. I'm sure there are some.

There ARE INDEED some who think that the current run is close to coming to an end, but that is a different analysis entirely.

IMHO, as far as this Super Bowl, we have a better chance than all but 3 (NO, LAR and KC). Some would put as 5th ahead of the chargers. Perhaps, more reasonable is to say that the patriots are 4th and whoever wins the AFCWest is 3rdmost likely to win it all.

To be very likely to have a bye, and to be relatively healthy, means (to me) that we are very much in the hunt.
