My girlfriend says liquor stores are staying open. Haha

Liquor stores are generally considered essential to life and safety in every state, which is kind of wild but not, uh, entirely untrue. Suspect that designation is really just the result of advocacy from the liquor lobby, though.

I think that was the original date for bars and restaurants ...
So not so bad news for me as that date was in my plans ...
My wife is a deli manager for Stop and Shop so I am greatly concerned for her.
They gave them a 10% raise but won't let them wear masks which is
Don't get your hopes up on 7 April. The MA commissioner of education said yesterday that it looks "unlikely" that schools will reopen 7 April and I very strongly suspect it will be true of this as well.

When I used to drive my son around for soccer usually a 45 minute ride we would count the
liquor stores on the way to the field ... if you've never done it on a hour or so long drive
through towns ... try it sometime ... it is an amazing number ... unreal actually.
As a non drinker I don't get it ... but it's just a choice.

I agree ... wishfull thinking at best on my part.

They'd get almost certainly robbed otherwise.

Also, given the incubation period of the disease, keep in mind it could take a couple of weeks to see the effects of social distancing. Even if it works well you won't see any signs of it in the numbers for a while.

Months. This is a long term issue

Won't let them wear masks? Wow.

It is really scary that one can be a carrier ... a walking weapon of death.
I would hate to think that is me ... and caused another to get sick and pass.
I am hunkered in my basement office ... doing my part.
Piled up over 20 trash bags of accumulated junk ... office is looking pretty decent.

Probably. But we’ll see. This whole situation is pretty fluid.

Tired of predictions, think it’s best everyone takes this week by week.

The post I initially responded to did not have "2020" in it so...

The post I was responding to stated that the DNC rigged the race for Biden, though.

In any event, I don't really even disagree with you about 2016. Happy to let this one lie for now.

maybe the liquor lobby did chime in but so did the medical people. Hospitals would be over run with alcoholics in detox. Without proper medication a lot of these people would go into seizures and many would die.

This is bad news for me as I am self employed with customers in Massachusetts and Rhode Island but I get it so it is what it is. I actually had my business sold to start a new career before the shutdowns ... talk about bad timing. Also waiting for a closing on a new studio condo in Providence.

I applied for an SBA disaster loan to hopefully pay off high interest business
credit cards and thus have a lower cost of business as things reopen. keeping
my fingers crossed that the scientists keep moving at warp speed ... it's our best hope.

It's hard to think of yourself when others are suffering from being broke, sick or
have family members dying ... so my prayers are with them all.
How is selling your business before pandemic hit a bad thing? Wouldn't your business have suffered during these times?

Anyway, good luck and stay safe.

It would be great if members could stay focused on the Covid-19
current situation - current politics. There are a few in the thread
who seem to show up just to agitate which is rude to those who
are posting in the thread seriously concerning the current pandemic.

Have some consideration for your fellow PatsFans.com members.
Ian is going out of his way to allow a political discussion - think of him also.

Thank You

I'm done as well. All I have tried to do is offer a different perspective on the mainstream narrative...and have been met with attacks, insults, harassment, and bullying. Rather than continue down the low road I was starting on, I'm taking the high road and logging out. There's much more productive things I can be doing offline during this pandemic craziness.

Yes, that's the problem for him. This is why Trump either sinks or swims on his own. If thousands of people die, Trump will get blamed. If they can limit the virus, that's a huge advantage for him heading into the election.
