Conspiracy in Mexico

To be more specific, the conjugation of buscarán (buscar) is of a future tense, which means "they will look for/seek," so as far as I know (and I am no native Spanish speaker) it's suggesting a possession- and to win is to possess something, as opposed to "seeking to reach the superbowl." Probably splitting hairs here, but I just thought it was interesting how they chose to phrase it.

However as I hadn't realized the big game is tomorrow as I just got back, I'll just let this thread die a horrible death.

Buscando, I think, would mean "seeking" but my spanish teacher informed us that the native speakers hardly ever use the future tense -ando. They just say buscan or something to that effect.

I showed it to her and asked, and she said "It makes it sound more like they won two straight and are looking for a third straight win, but it's ambiguous enough that it could mean looking for their third straight appearance." She then asked me what it was for, and I said patsfans, and she laughed and said "Of course it is."

I just remembered her from the whole Jets fiasco. They interviewed her afterwards and I thought (besides being pure eye candy) 'they actually call her a "sports" reporter'. Figured the joke fit for this espanol themed thread...

Its the way Spanish works. Its the phrasing. If you're not specific you're always implying. The proper way to say it would be "Los Seattle Seahawks buscan su tercera aparicion seguida en el Super Bowl" which would translate to "The Seattle Seahawks are looking for their third appearance in a row in the Super Bowl." Not specifying that is an appearance imply they won the other two.
