Congratulations coach Belichick on 300th win!!!

Good time for a trade now that his stock is back up.
Was just thinking the same thing about Mac. If he continues to play well and the Pats still want to make a change in the end then there will be a market for him.

Gotta believe that after this Hoyer performance & w/ Jimmy on the sidelines again, Josh would be very interested in a reunion of his boy w/ Jacoby.

Oof.

Congrats Bill, #300
It hasn't been easy this season, You put them together, Bill.

Let's move on, and plan now for next season, 10/31, trade deadline. Time to move on from Mac Jones.

Anyone else catch that the Bills are Belichick's B**ch when it comes to milestone wins? 50th, 100th, 150th, 250th and 300th. The only outlier was #200 against the Vikings.

Well deserved he has stood the test of time, 49 years, not often does a coach in any sport last this long.

Many do not remember or conveniently forget the brouhaha by the press after when Bledsoe returned to the field after his injury, BB did not give the QB job back to him, he stuck with #12. This unleased a fury of negative press about how he lied to Bledsoe and Bledsoe was treated like some sort of god by the local scribes. BB stood fast, rightfully so..
Let us not forget there were more than a few fans critical of the move as well.
And the media and those fans are just as moronically stupid and wrong today as ever.

They worship the false laughingstock narrative, the flying elvis & Drew (nice person, good player with an impenetrable ceiling, good stats - like Derek Carr, Neil Lomax etc.)

And they empower opponents, their fans and the league with their idiocy.

Let's see similar statistics for Starr/Lombardi, Bradshaw/Noll, Graham/Brown...

BTW Patricia is a better OC than O'Brien.

If you want to make a point specific to BB, you need to do this for multiple coaches that you think have more merit than him in the FA era. Otherwise, the only point here is that better QBs make it easier to win games.

Looked it up. Parcells is 58-68 without BB on his staff.

Tuna was more of a builder than a head coach.

Parcells, zero Super Bowls or conference championships without Belichick.

Nicely done.
Wrong.

It's like saying Shula did nothing without Arnsparger.

Team sports are a collaboration between players and coaches, but their success usually depends on the leader, the man in charge making the decisions. Shula was an a**hole but he was a great coach. Parcells wanted to stay here but Kraft drove him away, and Bill wanted to keep coaching, so he went to the Jets. Belichick is one of many players and coaches who were integral to Parcells' success, who were there in the first place and did well because Parcells gave them the opportunity.

I despised Parcells for years because he coached the Giants. It's entirely irrational, subjective and lacks any substance, aside from Bill being egotistical but That's How People Are (And Have To Be) Living In New York City, and most players and coaches will tell you that Parcells' personality motivated and inspired them to do their best.

Patriots fans hate Bill today because of how he left. Even if Kraft hadn't thrown his tantrum and Parcells didn't leave, neither Bill nor Perkins was giving the ball to C-Mart and thus we weren't winning the Super Bowl. Coaches make mistakes - Parcells, Berry, Belichick - all of them.

Off topic - But Shula really did do nothing without Bill Arnsparger.

Shula, in the 60s & 70s, constantly had a top 5 Defense. But when Arnsparger left the Dolphins in 74-76 to be the Giants HC; the Defense went from Top 5 (practically every year) to being absolute trash within in two seasons. Once Arnsparger came back to Miami after getting fired from the Giants, the D quickly went back to being top 5 again, and it stayed there until he left after the '83 season (Marino's rookie year). In 84, Miami made it to the Super Bowl with the D still in the top 10 for one last year....then, the D completely fell off a cliff for the rest of Shulas career, only making the top 10 once more in 1990.

Keep in mind, Arnsparger coached SEC football for the rest of the 80s. But in 1992, he became DC for the San Diego Chargers and by 94, they went to the SB with a top 10 Defense. He retired after 1994 and San Diego quickly turned to trash.

My comment was a response to all of those here who give Brady all the credit for the Patriots success. I have made it clear for years and years that I believe it took a huge effort from many people, with Belichick and Brady the most important factors, to achieve the success they achieved, sB1 turned it around on the Belichick haters and I gave him/her props for doing that.

A lot of info I either forgot or didn’t know. Good stuff…thanks

If either of you have some point to make besides how Bill got to 300 wins based on starting QB, have at it. Compare Shula, Halas, whomever.

Not sure I agree, but that's a good post.

I'm not trying to make a point, just to understand if you're trying to make one other than good QBs win more than bad ones. If that's your whole point then congratulations, you've provided some evidence by showing a group of QBs with varied skill levels at different stages in their careers. However, if your point is something specific to BB, then your data is meaningless without other coaches for comparison.
