Guys, if we want to win all the way...we gotta beat the best on the AFC so we have all the confidences to beat any NFC team in the SB.

I'd like to see the Pats beat the Colts, and either Ravens or the Steelers it don't matter as long we win i'm happy.

Not sure if anyone realizes that these are not the Colts we are used to. Simply because they still have players like Manning, Freeney, Mathis, and Wayne does not mean they are the same well-oiled machine that "can beat anyone." Any team can theoretically beat any other team, but the Colts don't have a better chance than anyone else.

Does anyone realize the Colts just played on their home field in a must-win game against a 6-10 team that was playing for nothing and had lost 7 of 8... and that 6-10 team had the ball, first down, at Indy's 35 with less than two minutes in a tie game?

The Colts really, really do not scare me. They have regressed significantly since we played them. They've won four in a row, but none against a solid club, none that were statement wins.

The Jets have been dead since early December, like the guy in Mortal Kombat who is standing there waiting to get his fatality.

I won't be rooting for either but since I hate the Jests more I would rather see the Colts win. I want to see the Jests humiliated, I want to see the Fat Rex eating a gd cheeseburger on the sideline with while Dirty gobbles down a hotdog.

I want to see LdT sulking on the bench and the NYU media ripping them apart. I want to see them call Pey-pey thier daddy with Braylon drinking and Holmes lighting up another J on the sideline.

I want to see Freeny spin D'Brick around like a top making him dizzy and puking up his guts on the field while Dirty gets pounded into the turf prompting him to munch down on Rexy's wifes toes mistaking them as "little weenies" due to be beating he received from Freeny. I want the Jests utter and total destruction and the sooner, the better.

The way the Pats D is playing, I don't fear the Colts. They will make Pey-pey turn it over and over and over again just like they used to do in the Ty Law days.

Rooting for the Green Beans to have ANY kind of success, ever, is a crime against God, small children, the elderly, and defenseless animals. The Green Beans are evil and soulless and must be destroyed at the earliest possible opportunity.

When a Pats fan roots for the JEST, God kills a kitten.

I really dont care, I'm just glad we can watch one of them eliminate each other before we come to town. if I had to chose, I'd rather Jets win. That doesnt mean I'd be "rooting" for them, I just said I'd rather play them over the Colts.

I really hope the Ravens get eliminted

Manning throwing a pick 6 for the final play would be awesome.

It's a court-martial offense to imagine... to dream of rooting for the Jets. A serious crime. Even to think of rooting for the Jets is just...

This is harder than I thought

There are no friends and no enemies, just allies. This week we're Jets fans, the Colts are starting to look a little too good.

That's probably true, but I am never one to count them out. Manning has looked a lot better of late, regardless of his teammates - and, granted, I do agree that the level of competition was weak. But it's hard to say they have regressed since our meeting - in which they played us as well as anybody has of late.

Well, I'd love to see Sanchez throwing in a windy/snowy Gillette Stadium... Can't get sick of turnovers, can we ?

Plus, we'll let the Ravens and the Steelers fight for a third AFC north battle : let's let them hurt eachother before the AFCCG

I'd like to see the Jets so we can put a hurting on them in the week after and shut up the NY media (at least for a couple weeks).

If the Colts win then they get to visit the Steelers instead of KC/Balt so that's not so bad either.

Sounds like a lot of kittens are in trouble this week.

There's an easy semantic solution: Root for the Colts to lose.

I think any of the six teams can beat any of the others on any given Sunday (or Saturday). There's definitely a careful-what-you-wish-for element here.

That said, on paper, here's how I see it. I think of the three opponents we can face in our first game, my preference goes: Chiefs, Jets, Ravens. And, there's actually a good gap to the Ravens. It's my least favorite matchup of the entire playoffs. A few main reasons: (1) We have a ball hawking defense and they don't turn it over. I think Flacco has like 5 interceptions in his last 12 games. (2) Yards after catch. We rely on it pretty heavily. Without seeing stats, the eyeball test tells me that the Ravens are as good as any team in the league in sure tackling in open field. (3) Weather. They can play outdoors in January.

I think the Chiefs would be a good matchup, because we haven't played them at all and I think that's an advantage for Belichick, whereas the field gets evened a bit when a team has tape on how they played you that year. Plus, they are 3-5 on the road. So, the ideal situation would seem to be an Indy win and a Chiefs win. Then again, that leaves Indy in the playoffs -- but we'd only face them in their third of three tough games at home, so at least there's that.

I am sick of the Jets. Another week of listening to Ryan is repulsive to think about. But I also can't stand Manning, so this game all bad and no good. I hate that one of them will win. But I guess one minor plus of the Jets winning is that we avoid the Ravens.

I quickly picked the Colts, but now I'm not sure, since I would really like to see them both one and done.

Nah, on second thought, let's stay with the Colts. That way Rexy and his band of idiots are sent packing right away, and then the Colts prove they can't win on the road in the second round.

I hope the Colts win then we would play the winner of the Kansas City /Baltimore game and the Colts would have to go to the Steelers and they can beat each other up and the winner can limp into Foxboro in the AFC championship game.I think after last years drubbing by the Ravens BB would never allow another performance like that to happen again.I think KC is good but not a threat to beat the Pats..

Good point.

I would normally agree with this philosophy, but you MUST consider that the Green Beans include:

* A head coach who declares himself bi-curious and is into things like nipple torture, fisting, physical humiliation, and pimping his wife out to complete strangers so he can watch her "take a big (one) in all three holes."

* A running back who publicly declares himself a "classy guy" and then disappears when the weather gets cold.

* One wide receiver who puts innocent people's lives in danger driving drunk, with teammates in the car condoning his recklessness.

* Another wide receiver who imitates LeBron James after scoring a game-winning touchdown in the Super Bowl, gets caught abusing drugs, and selfishly disregards simple requests from airline workers.

* A special teams coach who tries to deflect blame for rules violations by accusing other teams of doing the same thing, then gets his team fined for it.

* A strength/conditioning coach who blatantly cheats on the field of play by tripping an opposing team's player.

* A scumbag owner with no moral compunction who cares only about selling PSLs.

* The world's most ignorant, loathsome fan base.

And this is only the tip of the iceberg. No, in defense of all that is good and righteous on earth as well as in heaven, the Green Beans must LOSE at every given opportunity.

Ravens is a team that plays to the competition in my eyes. They kill me sometimes at how terrible they can play against mediocre teams and then magically play good teams. For example, they just barely sqeaked by bungals yesterday and honestly should have lost that game but they played the Saints (a much better team then bengals to me) like it was the superbowl and win the game. They play the Bucs, again at home, and barely win that one. They basically won that game on a BS PI call.

But they play us and its always a tough out for us. We've never blown them out. I think its time to do just that.
