On the one hand, it seems simple - Jets, as the #6 seed, are the easier team to face. Right? We destroyed them 45-3 last we played them. However, I caution to write them off even when all logic suggests we should be huge favorites. They have played us tough twice in the past two years - and the Ryan style defense has been about as good as any as having some effect on this offense in the past several years. Obviously, we dismantled them about as badly as one could imagine just a few weeks ago - but, they can't be written off entirely.
On the other hand, it is the Jets, and I cannot fathom rooting for this Jets team that has become so easy to dislike, so annoying, so loathsome. Don't get me wrong, I hate Peyton Manning. But I respect his game. He's one of the few players in the postseason worth fearing. I can't root for him either, but at least he's worthy of respect.
If the Colts win, that brings us either KC or Baltimore. Both are likely more difficult matchups than the Jets, on paper - so, maybe the answer just is that simple. We have to root for the friggin Jets for a week.
