Clinching scenarios discussion

Everyone here would have signed up for this thread last spring/summer. Nice to be back, regardless of the outcome.

How about floating this reality last spring: Pats lose to Giants in week 13 , and their odds of having the #3 playoff seed more than double.

The Colts not making the postseason, with no first rounders, and a meh QB to pay, would be something lol.
it sucks they gave 2 firsts to the jets.

Yup also the Giants massive choke in their game with Denver...
Tells us how any of these games can go, even tonite. Giants wont be easy regardless of the record. and the miami game is no automatic either as they have found winning football.

Giants will be an easy win. Jets and dolphins will be easy wins.
Baltimore and Buffalo are likely wins.
Strange things can happen in football games, but these games go as expected we win them all.

I expect to lose a couple, please don't let one be tonight.

I believe the Pats have clinched a playoff spot already. As in, I believe the model I looked at showed 0% chance they miss the playoffs.

Honestly?

That’s a massive change from my expectations pre-season. Anything else is gravy.

1 seed is unlikely because I think Pats lose 2-3 games without the injured players.

Why would you expect that? We are better than every team we face and have shown no cases of taking games lightly

This time of year, crazy things happen. A 3 win team took the Broncos to overtime and almost won. A team we handled early in the year took down the Rams yesterday. A 3 win team with arguably the worst D took down the Ravens on the road. none of those teams were being considered for the playoffs. I want to get through this game tonight with a win and without anymore injuries. Keep the pressure on the Broncos and the Bills that we aren't going away. is it possible to clinch while on a bye?

They have not quite clinched, but are guaranteed to make the playoffs with 1 more win. A combination of any 3 NE wins and BUF losses guarantees them the division.

Hey just so you know, the Giants were easy. lol.

Yeah that is going to backfire. Daniel Jones, even healthy, just isn't good enough to put them over the top.
sauce had that "pop" in his leg, kinda already did...

And the cherry on top is that just beating Buffalo alone (i.e. combination of only 2 NE wins / BUF losses) will clinch the division.

How do we feel about a hat and t-shirt game?
