Patriots Injury News Christian Barmore out indefinitely with blood clots

Let’s hope he comes back from this. Some athletes don’t (Chris Bosh).

We were all hoping for an ofensive improvement and a big part of that with a QB like Brissett or a rookie is having more possessions and shorter fields to work with. That comes with sacks and Barmore was a big part of that.

This news sucks so much, I was on the team looking with optimism that we could win around 8 games or so, now we can definitely count this loss as one that changes the math between W and L in those close games.

If he has deep venous thrombosis (DVT) in his leg, blood thinners are typically given for a minimum of 3 months. He should not play football while on blood thinners.
The duration of therapy long term depends on underlying cause.
In some instances for pro athletes you can interrupt therapy during season.

Without details about underlying cause treatment prognostications are just guesses.

Best case would be return in November. But he could be gone for season

Remember Antonio Garcia?

Opponents might be able to run it right up the middle if the Pats can’t find someone to at least replicate his run defense. They won’t find someone who can replace his pass rush unless it comes from the DE’s like White. Hopefully they can hold down the fort and he can return sooner than later.
Yeah Barmore is a unique player. KC could also be without Chris Jones reports he's dealing with a series groin issue. They are both the same type of player.

To state what should be the incredibly obvious: This is clearly unfortunate for Barmore. Best case scenario #1: His condition is treatable to the point where he can, at some point, play football again. Best case scenario #2: His condition is treatable, but he'll never again be able to play football (however, the guaranteed money in his contract should help him live a comfortable life if he's wise with his money). In a strictly business sense, the team needs to be looking at players in next years draft that can do what Godchaux does (Deone Walker), and what Barmore has shown the capability of doing (which they should always be looking for those types of players regardless). And of course, we still need a young and solid, if not a stud LT (and whatever other positions needed that can be addressed in both FA and the draft in 2025). Clearly, this is just a wait and see situation for Barmore in-specific, and the team in-general.

As a Doctor, how concerned are you for athletes that have been diagnosed with blood clots?

Does anyone know what the symptoms or what type of pain he would be experiencing with the blood clots? I’m wondering what was going on to to have him seek out the trainer or medical staff.

For health reasons he should miss the whole season.

What was the name of that top left tackle at the top of the 2025 draft?
So exciting that we actually have a great chance to have the worst record and the first pick! That's our Superbowl and we look to be preseason favorites! Rebuilding is fun and we might get to enjoy it for years!

I'm no doctor but blood clots can often form because there is an underlying condition - myocarditis for example which likely would have symptoms.

“I'm no doctor”

Should’ve stopped there. Or even before.

First of all, this is serious ****.
So I'm sending positive healing vibrations
to CB via the intranet. Heal, bro. Be OK.
Live a normal life.
2nd, this sucks. He's on the verge of superstardom. Arguably our best player.
Barmore and White were gonna wreak havoc on Qbs this year. Pats had a shot at being the best defense in the NFL.
Maybe still can happen but I'm not counting on it. Didn't blood clots knock Andrews out for a whole year?

Run them by a mirror first, and ask yourself if starting a post stating your lack of qualifications for what you’re about to say should meet your own standards.

Sucks but at the same time something like this is bound to happen. Whether it’s injury, illness, or illicit handjobs…not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when and this will help them gauge how things are defensively I’m thinking. Here’s to the big man coming back healthy and ready to destroy.

Always been curious as to how something like this is found. From what I’ve read, clots are found a lot of times after it is too late...

Regarding how it is found...id like to hear how the team they have on it found it. Would be interesting.

I was really looking forward to this. Will just have to wait a bit. Health trumps all.
