Hoping for a quick recovery to full health. On a selfish note, this sucks for the team and fans.

Agree. I really hope Barmore recovers well.. but other guys will have to play more and really bring heat on QB. Big year for uche and white. Jennings,Tavai, watts, all will have to step up. I can see covington sending more safety blitz
More directly relevant, I could see us making every effort to extend Godchaux and Wise. With Guy and Barmore both gone, there is a bit of a hole in the middle of our run defense.

From the legs.

Yes clots can form in the legs but not all travel. If they do circulate like derricks they become more dangerous, especially those that go to the lungs. We still need more details before we’ll know the exact time frame. Most of the season ending cases i remember are when it has involved the lungs. Andrews and I remember a Colorado avalanche player years ago.

I agree. Treatment shouldn't take more than 2 months. After that, it is a matter of conditioning and strength.
Blood thinners complicate things greatly.

I am just glad it was caught before anything bad happened. Blood clots are no joke.

Also happy for him and his family that he got paid so he won't have to make any health compromising decisions because of money.

He should take the entire season off like Andrews did and come back next year. No need to risk anything. I would be surprised if he plays this year.

We will miss him but I think we have good cover there.
Agreed here. He is a big part of what he do up front. But fortunately we have other guys that will have to play more and step up.. would be a welcome sight of the offense could contribute from the gate. We are still a great defense however Barmore makes us elite.

Yes absolutely they have all the leverage now.

I’m curious to know where the clot is, I’m sure if it’s in the heart or lungs that’s worse than any other place.

Stroke is also to be avoided.

Godchaux really should be paid now. He’s already earned a good renewal, now the team needs him more than ever.
Godchaux with Barmore and the rest of the DL is good. Godchaux without Barmore, let alone over-paying for him out of desperation is a very bad idea. Godchaux should not be paid anymore than they would have paid him if this had not happened to Barmore.

That’s too bad, great talent but this could very well be career altering. Get well soon, more to life than football

They are using the plural - "clots" - and the timetable will depend on the underlying cause. If this is something that he's going to be prone to for the rest of his life, that's very different than if he's got some clots from an injury or other transient issue.

To summarize my extensive, complex thinking on this: f#ck.

Andrews had multiple clots and came back to play, many people have clots and once fixed can keep it from re-occurring.
Hopefully he can take the year off and come back healthy.
So Terrible for him to deal with this so young but glad he had access to a trainer that was on the ball.
He's getting the best care and I expect and hope he makes a full recovery. I'm glad he got the contract and doesn't have to add the stress of not having a contract to dealing with this.

Seems like the agent thanking the NE trainer is a shoutout to an individual who did their job in an important time in Barmore’s life.

As someone who owes my life to health professionals, as well as the life of my twins, my partner, and my father to health professionals, I’d like to add my voice.

To all dedicated health professionals, some of us are indebted to you and support your continued excellence.

Let’s wait til we have more information.
Get well soon Christian!

Blood clots in the legs killed Derrick Thomas.

Barmore is out for the 2024 football season.
It’s not the clot in the leg that kills you; it’s when the clot breaks off and travels to the lungs, wedges itself in the pulmonary artery, and causes the heart to give out.

First, I feel really bad for the guy and hope he recovers. Depending on where it is, he may never play again.

Not that I envisioned something like this happening, but this was why I was so against signing him prematurely.

Man that sucks for him. So young to have that issue…important to figure out WHY that happened
100% agree - I have a co-worker that same age who dealt with that issue over a year ago - had a cardiac event but now ok - no prior issues, no indicators - the MDs have no idea why.
