8 of the 9 charges were dropped. He's not cleared. He still has to do community service and has one year probation.

So that's been taken care of. What more does NFL need to do when the court has determined that it was oversight. Any overarching oversight by NFL just reeks or smacks of overbearing behavior / excess

Well, if I got a DUI or robbed somebody but most of the charges were dropped, my employer could still suspend or fire me.
