Chargers lose Henry for the Season - Will they call the Pats about Gronk?

The OP says after Henry, the Chargers have “virtually no TE on the roster”. Guess what, after Gronk, the Pats have “virtually no TE on the roster. The Pats have Gronk, and then all scrubs with question marks. If the Pats lose Gronk, they lose TE as a weapon. He’s not going anywhere.

media reports personally mean nothing to me until it is finalized.....absolutely nothing....seen stuff like this before change at the drop of a hat
Well, a hypothetical situation where the Chargers call the Patriots means nothing too.

Even if they do call, I doubt they're going to throw us 2 first round picks.

I'm not @oldrover but I'd like to think he would approve of this post.

I’d its not for Bosa, or maybe Ingram and some change then no thanks.

gronkowski for their first in 2019? Very tempting, but i’ll Have to pass.

Gronkowski is a desperately needed receiver now.

Edelman is 33 and coming off a torn acl. Plus he has an injury history.

Hogan is slow.

Mitchell does not look healthy.

Dorsett is an empty uniform.

Britt is an under achiever, but could be special in our offense.

Mathews is slower than hogan. But very good at creating separation.

Bottom line is we need gronkowski to catch some balls for us this season.
0-16

You’re also overrating Henry’s value here. The guy hasn’t eclipsed a 600 yard season in his career yet.

Gates (even at his old age) could probably still hit near that amount if they brought him back for a year.

Plus they’ll have Henry long term anyways, so they already have an option for he future in place once he gets healthy.

The two players definitely go hand in hand these days. I think moving either player would jeopardize the situation of the other. No doubt.
BB might welcome this to regain 100% control of his team. He was willing to
lose a Superbowl game to do this.

How did Rob Gronkowski regress to spare part status???

The Chargers don't need to trade for Gronk because they have the "2nd best roster in the NFL" according to Colin Cowherd. Where's the Pats on his list you ask? 9th!

The Chargers are the AFC's version of the Dallas Cowboys. No matter how many failures they have, the media continually overrates them the following year. In fact, they've been to the playoffs twice since 2009!

Don't get me wrong, the Chargers have some talent, but just not enough to make them a force in the AFC yet or ever. And they always have injuries they can't recover from like Hunter Henry's. Their offense went from weak to weaker. And as long as Rivers is at QB, they won't go anywhere.

Remember the long thread we were all arguing this and some people on here were actually okay with him getting traded/thought he would get traded? LOL.

The Chargers have virtually no TE on the roster worth a damn and Henry was expected to be a huge part of that offense but now he's gone with a torn ACL

With Gates far past his prime and the Chargers wanting to move on,its entirely possible the Chargers make an attempt on getting Gronk - hope not with his contract under negotiation but would not shock me if they did and what they would offer.

Opinions?
even trade for Bosa, do it!

Gronk would be a big loss but he has been often injured and yet with Tommy at the helm, the Pats still won plenty of games - The Chargers WR corps is overall mediocre IMO with an Erratic Rivers and Henry was supposed to be a huge factor in their offensive game plans

Why is it that so many Patsfans have some innate paranoia? They see something happen to a player on another team on the opposite coast and immediately think “oh no, we’re screwed!!”

My thought is “that’s too bad, what am I having for breakfast?”
