Central Thread For Mourning/Canonizing Jimmy Garoppolo

Yet this is the quarterback you wanted to take over our #1 seed 13-3 2017 Patriots with MVP Tom Brady?

This team is not 13-3 or the #1 seed with Jimmy G this year.
jimmy g is undefeated this year with a team that has less talent and worse coaching than the patriots

agree?......disagree?

edit....how can one disagree with this?......its pretty much empirically true

Nor a playoff team

I wanted him taking over next year.

The odds JG will ever compare to them are microscopically small.

Maybe not on their exact level but I still take him over Tom Brady at his age. Compact deliver, lightning quick release, thinks fast, learns quickly. The odds of finding another top tier qb in the next couple drafts aren't that great either.

I thought Kraft let Bill make all the decisions regarding football without any interference. Why would that suddenly change after so many years ? Bill probably knew that Brady was still playing at an elite level and knew he couldn't keep both players . Having said that, I think Garappalo will be one player that the Patriots will regret letting go , wish we been able to keep him and Brady . This one bites....
It changed because Tom Brady, who is like a son to Kraft, went whining to Kraft about feeling insecure about his chances of retiring as a Patriot given BB's reputation for ruthlessly trading aging veterans and BB's obvious affinity for Jimmy Garappolo. That's why Kraft got involved, because Tommy was whining. And BB knew Tommy went whining to the owner and BB's response to that was to throw Brady's guru Yoko Guerrero off the team plane and the sidelines during games.
For those of you who don't believe there is more to this than meets the eye just ask yourself 2 questions:
If Belichick knew he was getting rid of Garappolo midseason because Brady was playing at a high level then why did he trade his other backup QB Jacoby Brissette for a bag of footballs just weeks earlier??
And if Belichick knew he was trading Jimmy Garappolo during the season why didn't he shop around for the best offer.....because he didn't shop around at all.....he called up John Lynch and only John Lynch and traded JG for a 2nd round pick.

Here's the real question going forward - who is here longer, Belichick or Brady??
At the beginning of the season this was not an issue. I believe it is now.

Interesting. BB made it clear he wanted to win with another qb. Obviously he was talking about Jimmy. Little did Kraft know that not only did he lose Jimmy, he lost BB too.

Save me the sentimental decision making because that's how bad choices are made. I just want to continue this domination.

JG just Manning’d his best WR

Is BB and Tom's relationship ruined now if it is true about the whining on Tom's part ? I don't want to believe that . We will never get the full story except a lot of speculation

Has thrown a pick now in 4 of 5 starts.

Pretty sure Brady was getting **** on here for something similair

The boy's destroying the league and he will only get better (while always remaining “made at Foxboro“) . and all you can do is drool over some interceptions? The sad thing is your post would be just the opposite if he was doing the same thing in Pats outfit.

If you're gonna be bitter on him (or people enjoying him) I recommend you sincerely to find another target otherwise you'll be on a long painful road of envy..

Jimmy makes too many mistakes, Like an interception prone gunslinger.

And there's another INT.

Might have to start calling him Jimmy I-N-T

At JG’s age Tom Brady was already a 2 time Super Bowl Champion. Even Tim Tebow had a playoff win at the same age. I’ll stick with Tom.

Nobody is denying JG will most likely be a very good QB in this league... Even though it’s highly unlikely he will measure up to some of the great players he’s been compared to... that’s perfectly ok. You don’t need a top tier QB to win a Super Bowl. It looks to me like he’s certainly more durable in SF than he was here and that was my biggest issue with him.

This is basically his rookie year starting. There are growing pains. Brady threw 12 INT's in 15 games his rookie season. Jimmy's undefeated as a starter and that's the main thing.
The "cliff" at 26. SAD!

bet you he wins this game

and finishes undefeated for the year

with a crummy SF team that was awful before him

the way he has inspired the niners to play better is amazing to watch

Its not true.

Right now hes more like Brett Favre than Tom Brady.
