Celtics 2023 - 2024 Discussion

I still think that Hauser hasn't been right since that nasty ankle sprain. Does anyone have an easy way to get his shooting percentages before & after? I'd bet they're dramatically different. I think the injury has messed with his lateral movement and it doesn't take much to throw off a shot.

It's certainly possible, and injuries like that can linger for a long time. He seems to be moving normally, and his shot looks OK, but who knows?

I think his confidence has to be down a bit. It was good to see Tatum giving him words of encouragement a few games ago. True leadership.

You've shown yourself to be not too bright, and someone who has anger issues and poor parenting skills.

Keep answering back, I'll keep running rings around you.

Is that meant to be a gay joke? That's your best? You really should stop now.

I am not too bright. I have anger issues. I have poor parenting skills. I am homophobic. I should stop because you are running circles around me. And @Kdo5 likes your post.

What a world we live in. No-one could make this stuff up. All over a simple Internet post that you disagree with. You and @Kdo5 are stitched from the same cloth. Internet psychiatristrits or knuckleheads. Which one is it?

Why the sudden influx of chicken littles? A full strength Boston is the best of the three remaining squads. Any of their 6 best players can go for 30 points on any given night, they can throw multiple looks at defences, lock down on opponents when they have to, and have home court advantage.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The biggest threat to the Celtics is the Celtics. If they come to the NBA Finals mentally engaged, there's not a damn thing Dallas or Minnesota can do about it.

This team is showing me it's different from other years. They have to close it out now.

Stop being such a triggered little man just because I liked posts I agree with.

You wanna teach your son a real life lesson? It’s to avoid becoming a thin skinned internet weenie who is upset by ‘likes’. FFS get a grip.

Back to the Celtics now

It’s been a while now. I don’t believe it’s the ankle, I think he is caught up in his own head and the spotlight of it being deep playoffs is not helping his confidence much.

He got a three last game, let’s hope he can get a few early in the Finals.

Internet disagreements happen all the time. NBD.

Your point (a loss is a loss, the Pacers shouldn't be happy after getting swept) is a valid one even if I don't agree. The problem is you felt the need to show us all what a badass you are by berating your son and calling him a loser because he came in 2nd place.

Then you were upset that not only did you not get the support in "likes" that you seem to crave, but a few people actually called you out on it. Then came the insults, using big words like "bozo" and "knucklehead," as well as the homophobic comments.

It all shows who you are. It's sad you can't realize this on your own, but others see it.

Your posts and responses show you have a history of trying to bully people into submission when they don't see things your way. It works great on kids, not so much on adults. Deal with it.

Uh oh, I liked your post. Want to meet under the bleachers?

I do agree with this post. I am glad they're getting the rest. They should win it all, but strange things happen sometimes!

You guys see some of this ridiculous chatter on ESPN about Tatum's "reaction" to Brown winning the eastern conference final MVP thing

This team's on a historic run and that's what they talk about. I'm pretty confident he won't, but here's hoping Tatum doesn't let it get into his head for a single second

I don't know - that was a nasty ankle sprain.

I did check & his 3 point shooting percentage was actually better after the injury but there were a couple of duds. That Sacramento game in March - 1 for 18? Ouch. Maybe that's what screwed up his head?

I agree. I thought Brissett was decent with the time he was given. Queta can provide some minutes and fouls if nothing else. Hauser can't be trusted right now. There's been little news about Pritchard, but if he broke his nose or orbit and has to wear a mask that could potentially hurt his shooting. Kornet is supposed to return but will his wrist injury be healed?

There are a lot of question marks on the bench. It reminds me of the KC Jones years. One of the reasons the Lakers won more back then was they were willing to go 9 deep while KC ran Celtics starters into the ground.

I really want the WCF to be a dragged out, injury-filled, triple OT 7 game series with the survivor crawling out of the blood and mud, dragging themselves onto the plane to play a Celtics team that earned their rest.

I get what you're saying about Brad but honestly if Horford was coming off the bench as intended things would be looking pretty good right now. That said the bench is likely going to need some help next year. I would imagine Horford will retire. Out of the rest Pritchard is probably the only one who warrants a spot right now unless others step up.
Agreed. I believe if we win it this year Al definitely retires and what a way to retire on top. Yes KP is just so up in the air, I'm not sure he will even return.. this is the same injury Giannis had. At this point in a long grueling season it's survival of the fittest. Who ever team is the healthiest usually prevails. Yes, Brissett gives some good minutes, I'd like some other guys to be given a shot springer perhaps guys a tenacious defender. Do what Pop or phil Jackson used to do.. if a guys hot put someone hungry off the bench to defend and give fouls. But yes a shooter and scoring big man off the bench would do wonders next season.

Gotta be careful of Luka‘s foul baiting. Did they not make a rule about blatantly launching oneself into a defender to draw the foul? They didn’t seem to want to apply it to Luka in that spot.
He gets away with a lot and cries like a baby when things don't go his way. I know some fans (myself included) have complained about Tatum whining, but Doncic is Tatum on steroids.

Here's looking forward to at least two more brutally tough Wolves/Mavs games.

The boys were 17 years old. They did not play hard and lost. I think a life lesson at 17 is a good thing.
For some reason I envisioned your son being younger.

Then Felger is pushing the new narrative that if Brown wins Finals MVP it could be enough to push Tatum to leave the Celtics down the road.

So even if the Celtics are NBA champs that’s the party pooper topic they can talk about the very next day.

Interesting fact for not big fans of NBA:
2022 NBA trade deadline: Washington trades Spencer Dinwiddie to Dallas for Porzingis
2023 NBA trade deadline: Dallas trades Dinwiddie to Brooklyn for Kyrie
Spencer Dinwiddie was the major piece in both trades. He had the chance to sign with Dallas this year, after clearing waivers, but chose to sign with the Lakers, where he averaged 6.8 PPG in 24 minutes per game.

He's never been this deep in the post season. Guy goes 100 MPH on each play. Also he played for team USA Last summer too right ?
Speaking of team USA, aren't the summer olympics this year? Yikes! I prefer NO Celtics play this summer, esp Zinger.

Yes! Actually I believe JT committed to play this summer. Of course player's always want to represent the USA in ball, but the toll it takes on a a player is immense.
