This is what they’ve always been. White and Holiday just mask the issue with outstanding leadership and playmaking. Teams just need to get into a dogfight with them and put pressure on them, and Tatum and Brown implode 9 times out of 10.I hope Mazzula is reaming their asses out tonight because they deserve it.
Can't argue with most of that.Derrick White is the Celtics best player. Sorry if you all can’t understand why. I can, which is why I bet money on the Hawks tonight when I saw he was out.
2-3 without him. Losses to Atlanta (down 3 starters including Young) and Charlotte. Easily their two worst losses of the season by opponent.
The Celtics have no leadership or poise with J&J “leading” them, story of their careers, despite their immense talent.
Brown’s 3 point attempt illustrates everything wrong with him. Hawks broadcasters were stunned, dumbfounded at what a stupid, low percentage shot he took in that situation.
Tatum and Brown gave the Hawks 4 free throws down the stretch. Typical low basketball IQ from both of them at end of games. That’s exactly the type of stuff that doesn’t show up in point totals and scoring averages but changes outcomes of games.
Both needed to play point guard too even with Pritchard on the court. Hilarious.
Everyone knew they were gonna lose when the lead started slipping. That’s the White factor (most clutch, poised player on the team) combined with the J&J factor (moronic, panic stricken hero ball, zero leadership.)
Holiday being out tonight also hurt obviously but White is clearly the team’s MVP and should be All NBA.
InexcusableI didn't watch the game but this **** is BRUTAL
There are zero signs of these guys changing. They better hope the 3's fall enough that they can win 4 games in each series by 20+
A lot of issues tonight. Tatum had a terrible turnover, Brown with a bad iso, Porzingis was soft and passive.Tatum Brown Porzingis and Mazulla.
C's lost because of those 4.
Tatum Brown and Porzingis killed us with horrible turnovers and too much one on one stupid basketball.
I'm pissed off right now.

But it’s more than that. The biggest issue was missing our hall handlers. No way that happens with Jrue/White out there, IMO. We needed our guards to calm things down and give us their elite defense. I wouldn’t have been as pissed if this was a close game throughout considering that but to choke away a 30 point lead is something else.
Mazzula is also culpable. I think Hauser should’ve been used more. Why not start the second half with the same lineup you used in the first? It quickly went to **** with bad defense and Pritchard’s limitations did show. I understand why Joe experimented with Springer instead of Hauser at the end and it kinda worked on defense but I think I’d have preferred to have Hauser’s shooting.
Ugly night for sure.
Do we have a fourth point guard who is playable? Btw I did like Springer. Got called for the fouls but the Hawks offense definitely slowed down when he was out there. I just wish he could shoot a little better and he could get more minutes.Joe finally put Springer in during the 4th to stop the ball. Not sure why it took all game for Joe to pressure the ball handler. This loss is definitely old habits, which is very disappointing, but Joe has to take a lot of blame. No D White and no J Holiday and Joe does not play a point guard to defend?

They didn’t start Hauser in the second half because they realized how stupid it was to have a lineup without a point guard, which was becoming apparent towards the end of the first half even though they still build a big lead from the sheer talent mismatch.A lot of issues tonight. He absolutely made a difference, they slowed down. Overall we couldn’t find our offense at that point thoughHe can not shoot which is disappointing, but if Springer was there for the whole second half the Celtics do not lose that game.
