Celtics 2023 - 2024 Discussion

Brown seems to be trending in the right direction, but for some reason, still has one or two of his "dribbling into a double team" episodes per game. His 3 point shot looks a lot better, and I think he looks good when we posts up or takes a mid-range jumper. Still a bit rough around the edges, but I think he looks like he is engaged and supportive of the game plans.
I will accept Brown and Tatum when they gets us number 18. They have been there in the end but have let us down more than once.

Go Celtics

Geez Celts shooting 75% (3P too) and only leading by 4... don't have the warm and fuzzies about that.

I understand that they brought in the 2nd string early in the game, but DAMN....play some defense. Also, too many turnovers by our Alpha Dog JT. 72 points at half time?

How does the #2 defense in the nba, playing at home, give up 72 pts in a half to the sixers who're playing w/o Embiid and Maxey?

It's human nature to let down when guys are out, that's when it's on the coach to make sure that doesn't happen

JB - 19 field goal attempts (more than twice as many as anyone else), 3 turnovers, ZERO assists

Such a selfish loser

I don't disagree, but Tatum also gets himself tossed whining about a foul when he already has a technical

Sometimes I wonder if these guys are ever going to get it

Brown has been putrid. Period.

This game is pissing me off

Brown shot poorly. He also came in during the fourth quarter and played straight up team basketball not a single selfish play.

Why don’t you talk about the guy who actually played selfish tonight? Jayson Tatum was awful outside of some scoring. He threw the ball around carelessly, made minimal effort on defense and got himself ejected in the third quarter which could well have cost the team a win. But everyone else played well to make up for him.

JT had a -7, turned the ball over 7 times in just three quarters of play. He posted 4 TO’s the prior game and 6 in the game before that. And here tonight the thing you think needs to be highlighted is Brown having 3 TOs (your guy Hauser, who is allegedly better than Brown also had 3).

Grande also posted that Tatum has the worst +/- on the team over the past 9 games.

I get it, you absolutely hate Jaylen Brown. But maybe direct your ire toward the guy who has actually deserved it lately.

At the end of the day both guys will be just fine. I believe in both.

As an aside Horford has been doing great after a quiet start to the season. Looked awesome out there.

Tatum was ass last night. Mazulla needs to reign him in. I understand why he was often the de facto point guard with Marcus Smart etc but there’s no reason he should be forcing this role with Holiday and White. His turnovers have been spiking for a few weeks.

Frustrating game but at least it is a W. Maybe Pritchard breaks out even more. Pritchard's near zero turnovers for the year is intriguing if he can start to drive more effectively. Needs to stop on a dime for a midrange shot, I would have thought that was easy for him.

Bad vibe about tonight’s game…hope I’m wrong.

Teams starting to shadow Hauser opening up lanes for Tatum and White to drive with no double.

I love that Hauser's defense has improved enough that he's not a liability to leave out there for longer minutes. His stroke from the 3 is sweet. Wish he would teach Tatum his shooting motion. Love JT, but that mechanical, clunky setup on his outside shot is just janky.
