Celtics 2023 - 2024 Discussion

Brown might play

He should just rest. In fact if anyone is feeling less than 90% (JT, JB. KP, Jrue, DWhite) just rest until it’s all good. We can win most games missing two of any of those guys, if not three of them. Christ we could win at least 50-60% of our games without Tatum.

I think Jrue is more than that. I think he is really nice person and is the quiet and positive leadership that the Js need. Watching Jrue's patience and passing has to affect Jason and Jaylen. Maybe I am tricking myself because that is what I want to happen? I think the team is really coming together. With one more scorer off the bench this is a great team. I am hoping Pritchard can be that bench scorer, but maybe someone else will step? To date the other bench players have not looked comfortable.
Jrue is good in a lot of ways. There is a sense of composure and lack of a strong ego that equips him to find the right plays and make the right decisions. He has seniority where he isn’t working toward individual goals so much.

Santi Aldama is a hell of a player. Had no idea he was 7’0” because he plays like a guard. Memphis broadcasters talked about the team attempting to play position-less basketball. It has been interesting.

I think it is a career high game for Aldama. Small sample size.

Aldama chokes. Celtics win. Water levels out.

Only caught the last 5 minutes.
Glad I did that was fun.
Porzingis! Why would anyone attempt a jumper in front of him?
He cracks me up too when he trash talks.

Epic defensive game by KP. Dude was absolutely everywhere terrorizing the Grizzlies in the paint. Loved the blocked shot to end it. KP by far player of game for Cs.

Tatum wtf 8 turnovers…had Hauser on perimeter multiple times and instead took shots against 4 guys. JB laughably bad as usual (normal level). Holiday had a bad game for him, just wasn’t feeling it. White was uncharacteristically impatient.

All in all it’s amazing they won the game with four starters bringing their worst games. Lucky it was the Grizzlies (and mostly their subs).

Hope they rest up as they travel to play tomorrow in Charlotte.

Just shows the talent level of this team to win on the road when 4 of 5 starters forget to show up.
Wished I'd seen entire game. Sounds like Porzingis had himself a night

Let's hope Pritchard breaks out tonight
He had a whole bunch of over the top passes tipped tonight…not good.

Kornet isn’t on injury report so I’m guessing he’s in the doghouse.

Pritchard's passes were tipped because the Grizzlies were guessing he was penetrating and passing, not looking to score. So the Grizzlies were jumping in the passing lanes. The whole league knows Pritchard has "Chuck Knoblauch" syndrome when it comes to scoring. Pritchard has to stop and make the mid-range jumpers which he should be able to do at a very high %.

Can’t remember an FA coming to Boston who I liked instantly more than KP. His antics and body language alone are worth watching the game.

White and Horford out tonight

Garnett was not a FA so you do not include him in your "FA category"? Porzi was not a FA either, BTW.

Yeah that’s right, they were both trades. I should have just said non-draft acquisitions. Definitely loved KG…KP is such a strange character though.

As long as somebody aside from KP decides to show up tonight, we should be able to keep pace. We're playing some clunky basketball right now, and JT just seems out of the flow of things. But, can't complain. The games have been more exciting than they should be, but exciting none the less.

Everything changes if Pritchard breaks out and starts hitting his 3s.

its Pritch's world, we're just living in it
