Celtics 2023 - 2024 Discussion

IN THE NBA EAST

The Heat stay tough.
The Bucks become stronger after the trade
The Celtics remain a question mark with health issues

Go Celtics

Celtics added the best player of the 3 teams.

Agree, if he is healthy and stays healthy, I assume you are talking about Porzingis. DL is a better scorer than Porzingis. Porzingis is better overall for the Celtics if he is starting 60 + games.

Lillard is 33. It is a "win now" move. In 2 or 3 years that team will suck for a decade with no draft picks.

For the season of 2023/24 the Bucks just advanced ahead of the Celtics for the NBA Championship on paper. The Bucks are now considered the best to win the Championship of all teams.

I didn’t see the Lillard trade when I wrote that before. Bucks will be a tough team. Still think Celtics are best team in east with healthy Porzingis.

The got rid of Holiday - their prime defender. Lillard is another weapon but only in offense. We will see what happens. IMO with a healthy Porzingis Celtics are better team.
BTW - I would take Holiday to the Celtics.

i think they are discussing making a play for Holiday. that would be a great addition.

I am all in trading Brodgon, RW III and Pritchard to Portland for Holiday. Probably will need a third team to be involved.

Yes, Do It.

Go Celtics

In exchange of Williams , Brogdon and some draft assets.

Holiday
White
Tatum
Brown
Porzingis

Porzingis' health is a key to the title.

If it were 2022 RW3 before the knee issue I'd feel differently but just can't rely on him anymore

Williams was clutch, but I’ll take Holliday all day long.

Awful. Williams and Brogdan PLUS two first round picks. For a 33 year old point guard.

Watch. He'll go out and play a career high in games this season.

Rob Williams leaving is a tough one. He is super talented with a lot of potential and it leaves our center depth in concerning shape.

BUT consider that RW3 is very injury prone and has a bad knee that will always pose a concern moving forward. People don’t talk about it much but when he did play this season he was not the same guy we had for our title run in 2022. I wish him the best and that he has a breakout season.

Jrue Holliday is an All-Star player, even at 33. He is an elite defender who can also score and facilitate. He makes the loss of Marcus Smart and Brogdon a wash, in my opinion. He fits like a glove with Tatum & Brown and will take pressure off of them.

They are taking a risk for sure but they had Marcus Smart and RW3 for years and never won the title. If the concern about losing JB in the not distant future is real then we need to make a move to win now.

Perhaps I’d be slightly less enthused if the Bucks hadn’t acquired Lillard but that needed an answer. Holliday was a damn good one.
