Can This Team Win the Super Bowl?

Any team still capable of making the playoffs can win the superbowl.

This teams chances are better then almost all of them(Dallas and Seattle both look like the front runners imo)

Depends on the matchup. This team has another worthy opponent coming up soon in the schedule in denver. I also wanna see how they do against a physical ravens team. Next week has the makings of an upset game heading out west.
You think they are going to lose to the worst team in the NFL?

It's painful to use this as an example, but if the 2011 Giants can win a Super Bowl then any Belichick/Brady Patriots team can.

No.

Not a single playmaker on defense. They have 5 INTs in 9 games, 2 of which were by Collins who will most likely lead the team in interceptions. 13 sacks, that's a little over 1 a game. They have recovered a total of 2 fumbles on defense, again, Collins had one of them.

So to recap, No Pass rush, no Playmakers, 1 very good CB (Butler) the rest are hot garbage. And a 9 million dollar a year safety who is MIA.

Welcome to the 2005-2013 NE Patriots. BB has wasted Brady's final years, by trading away Pro Bowl young, cheap, controllable defensive talent, and got absolutely nothing back in return!

Do you think that Jones and Collins would have at least made on turnover last night? Think about how many turnovers and big plays those two have made over the last 4 years. Trading one of them was stupid, (especially when you consider they got nothing in return for them), trading them both was criminal!

Statistics

Check out last year's defensive statistics. Collins and Jones combined had 133 tackles, 18 sacks, 2 INTs, and NINE CAUSED FUMBLES!!

The rest of the team had 915 tackles, 31 sacks, 9 INTs, and 40 caused fumbles.

Tell me again, how the Pats are better off with Thuney, Mitchell and a 2018 4th round pick?

The thing I don't get is why can't BB put together a defense like 2001-2004 or like the current seahawks D?

Because there's a salary cap. The Seahawks can afford that defense because they pay an absurd $8.7 million for their entire offensive line combined. The Patriots prefer not to have Brady running for his life, which means there's significantly less money to spend on defense.

Patriots are one of the top favorites to win the SB, and rightfully so. When firing on all cylinders, it's the most complete team in the league. Last night wasn't one of those nights where the team was firing on all cylinders, but as anyone with a brain knows, one game doesn't define a team - just as the KC game didn't define the 2014 team. If they continue to play like that over the next 3-4 weeks, then there's a reason for concern. Until then, you'd have to be silly to answer the OP's question with an unequivocal "no."

Yeah but that doesn't explain why he can't put together a 2003-2004 type D, which did not have too many superstar players. I don't know - maybe more credit should go to parcells for bringing a lot of those defensive players to the organization.

Still think we can turn it around on D, but everyone has to play a lot better. They had TWO weeks to prepare for Seattle, seattle had 6 days to prepare for us.

You have to wonder, would Collins and Chandler Jones have given the offense an extra 2 possession?

you don't have to at all

I get it.......the sky has fallen and is in pieces all over the ground

next!

Our Offense is probably the best in the game. Our defense is where the concern is. If we played like we did last night, we are going to have issues come playoff time. Hopefully, we can correct this. Between the 20's last night our defense wasn't competitive and our 3rd down defense has been really bad this year.
Fortunately in the AFC,there doesn't seem to be great teams so I think we definitely have as good of a shot as anyone in the AFC to make the Superbowl.

So which teams have no flaws that would make it impossible for the patriots to win a SB?
Well, Seattle is looking pretty good right now, for one.

I am hoping it was the scheme as others are saying. More times than not either the Seattle receivers were wide open, or the Pats defenders were just standing behind them, ready to tackle AFTER they caught the ball. NO half-time adjustments. Either we don't have the horses or BB and Matt Patricia did not trust the horses last night.

Yes. The problem is that they're going to have to try hard and some fans want, dare I say even expect, every game to be a cakewalk.

You think there is zero chance the patriots could beat the Seahawks in a super bowl? I disagree.

this defense STINKS

if the offense has a bad day, the game is over.

For everyone who needs it, there is a happy circle in my yard and I am passing out coloring books, crayons, play-dough and cookies.

Last nights d was horrific but lets not overreact to one game. Theres a long way to go this year and were still adapting to the turnaround.

If they still look like this in december ill worry but chances are with a bb defense itll look completely different.

No, of course not. Even with all the mistakes we made, we were still in it until the last second, and I was sure we would score. Then I was praying we'd win the toss in OT, because if we had to put the D back on the field (obviously BB's thought too at the end of the game) we were going to lose.

The OP's question was can the Patriots win the SB, and my answer remains the same, not with that defense. That doesn't mean the Pats won't get it fixed, but you have to admit, the D did not look good last night, any way you slice it.

It seems like every team this year is flawed, i take our coaches and Brady
