Bruins 2024-2025

Just a solid team win tonight against a Caps team that came in with only 8 losses on the year and sitting atop most power rankings. Pasta tried to play with a bug of some kind and exited the game several minutes into the 2nd, he did not return. Wahlstrom took a 5 minute major that shouldn't have been, the B's didn't give up a shot on net during the 5 minute PK. Marchand was everywhere, had a 3 point night.

Sacco putting Lindholm between Marchand and Coyle has caught fire, all 3 with goasl tonight. McAvoy and Zadorov as a shutdown pair finally looks like it's gelled, they're anticipating each other well and handing out some real punishment. Overall just a lot to like about the B's effort tonight

Lindholm is starting to win my heart. #28 had a lot to say to the Caps tonight.
How many shots did the Caps get? 12? Nice game and I agree that major penalty was barely a penalty. I think that if the Cap player just went down when he was knocked off balance on first contact, he is not going to be that close to the boards, but he tried to stay on his skates and ended up eating the boards. the excitement in TD garden as that major was killed off was fun to hear. Keep banking points and building chemistry.
Final thought: Can someone teach Zadorov how to get a shot on net, please?

3 of their last 4 games now, they've scored one goal in each of them... ONE.

Beecher & McLaughlin: Not NHL players; yet Sweeney & Sacco continue to give them chances to prove that they completely Suck.
Meanwhile, the Only two Forward prospects in their system who have shown might have a chance of taking their production to the next level - Merkulov & Lysell - are given mere cups of coffee & breadcrumbs...

And what the ****'s going-on with the other Lindholm? He should've returned a MONTH ago...

A month ago???? So 3 weeks after fracturing his knee he should have been back in the lineup? FFS, he suffered multiple comminuted patellar breaks along with a displaced tiba fracture. In general that's 10-12 weeks AFTER SURGERY before any load bearing exercise and who knows how many more before skating and contact. I know our opinions of him differ substantially but considering the guy played on a broken foot in 2023 until the fracture displaced maybe we could cut him a bit of slack and figure he's not soft for not making it back in 3 F'n weeks from multiple knee fractures

Sweeney needs to go.

I fear the Bruins are now the NHL equivalent of the Steelers. They win just enough for ownership to not blow it all up but they're not sniffing a ring anytime in the foreseeable future.

So disappointing. Sloppy play. Soft goals. No playmaking.

I'm going again next Tue when they play the Bolts. At least they are floundering as much as we are.

Late 1970's Red Sox playbook. Keep the fans interested, don't go "all-in".

Close, the Bruins have spent every dime though. I despised Jeremy Jacobs cheap ass for sitting on his wallet when the Bourque/Neely B's were so close and he just refused to go into the red to get them over the top. Outside of Kiam I held him in more contempt than any owner in the big 4 pro sports. But I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't acknowledge he was true to his word. Since the NHL implemented the cap and he got his beloved "cost certainty" the B's have spent to the cap every year.

Sweeney is the issue. I'm convinced of it.

Whether it's Sweeney or the direction he's been given is unknown but this fish definitely rots from the head. They thought they were closer than they were to a Cup and went all in trading off assets. The bill for all those unsuccessful moves has come due. I wish I could see a path forward for them without blowing it all up and taking the suck for a few years route to restock but I just don't.

To be fair, we all would have been disappointed if they hadn't gone all in a couple years ago. that team was looking like a SC championship team.
This year is making me realize how good we have had it recently with all the (regular season) wins/"goalie hugs". I can handle some losing, but the way this years' team just loses it is shocking at times.

Their stretches of dispirited play has me at a loss to understand. I've been following this team since I was a pup, until now I'd never seen it play so devoid of heart

Too many of their “all-in” trade deadline deals however were nothing more than mere give-always of their top-100 picks for players who never were worth their price in the first place: Stepniak, JM Liles, the corpse of Rick Nash, etc… And do we even need to mention Sweeney’s HORRIBLE drafting record with the picks they did keep, including his Very First draft in 2015? That inexplicable, MASSIVE ****up cost us the 2019 SC, if not more…
