Bruins 2024-2025

Saint Louis Blues fire their HC Drew Bannister and hire - Guess Who - to replace him…

Getting to him before Nashville or Piisburgh. At least those were the 3 spots I thought were the most likely for him to land.

Time stamp:

St Louis are 9-12-1 (19 pts) with Monty coming in. GF 53/GA 74
Bruins were 8-9-3 (19 pts) when Monty got schitt canned. GF 48/GA 69 (2-0-0 since, 3 GF/1GA)

lackluster offense last night and they let Debrusk come in and score a goal. We have nobody that can consistently score goals. Pasta has been off and everyone else is a 3rd line talent.

Something is up with Pasta, his shot accuracy is just gone. 12 feet away, no one in front of him and he can't get it on the net... wtf

Monty...1 game as St. Louis HC..................5 Goals For

Post-Monty Bruins.......3 games.....3 combined GF

Records:
Blues: 1-0
B's 2-1

Okay... no doubt I'll regret this but what does that have to do with watching him miss when unhindered and 12 feet away?

Think he's injured? A wrist/hand/finger thing would cause him to slow down, like we were talking about earlier in the thread.

I suspect he might be. For those of us that actually watch the B's it's readily apparent his game is off in every phase but none of it as glaring as his inability to put the puck where he wants it. Both his passing and shooting are markedly off target. He's always been a high shot volume guy and still is but the quality of his shots this season is way off. That's not even addressing his misses which are alarming

Bolstering your statement with supporting stats.
Can’t fathom why this triggers you.
The Marchand and team stats further exemplify the putrid state of the B’s offense as a whole, not just Pasta.

The point of my post wasn't the debacle that is the B's offense. Pasta, routinely one of the leading goal scorer's in the game, flat out missed the net from 12 feet away. Not did not score, with a gliding (not bouncing) puck and no one but he and the goaltender in sight flat out missed the net altogether. You would have to be watching the games to understand how unfathomably bad his game has been.

For the record, you couldn't trigger me if I was a trip wire. I don't value your opinion so I don't care what you say, To me you're a step above Andy and Triumph about on a par with FCB which puts you squarely in the meh zone,

Was that a trip in OT last night? I'm still not sure based on the limited angles that I saw. It seemed like the Detroit player went down kind of easy, but I've seen guys sell calls that had less effect on their balance.

It looked like it in real time but the replay clearly showed DeBrincat was actually the one guilty of a penalty. He grabs Pasta's stick and try's to leverage himself off it while turning the net. Pasta is entitled to his own stick, he shifted it and that made DeBrincat go off balance and lose an edge. Wouldn't have been all that surprised to see DeBrincat get a penalty there if the puck hadn't gone in. Take another look from this angle and it's pretty clear, Great catch in real time by the officials

The first angle is the best, I didn't see him holding the stick in real time. I thought he just lost his balance and dove.
Thanks for your analysis.

Three straight wins!!! There is a bit of energy starting to build. I hope they can get Pasta going and then they can take it up a notch.

Looks like Marchand isn't as cooked yet as I first feared... Geek's starting to show a glimpse more why some team foolishly thought he was worth a late 1st-rounder once... Maybe plop Lindstorm between them to see if his over-paid Eurotrash ass can get going, even if just a little... I'd keep ZaZa & Pasta together, for now... I wish Coyle had better linemates, but Merkulov (who should STAY with the big club for the foreseeable future to give him a Real ****ing chance) and Brazz are all that's left... And I'd rather have our 4th line centered by our cousin Vinnie Letteri than the horrible !st-round Bust Beecher, who has Zero Point Zero offensive potential.

Marchand - Lindstrom - Geek
Freddie - ZaZa - Pasternak
Merkulov - Charlie C - Brazz
Koepke - Vinnie - Kastelic

Laurie needs to be sent to Providence, or lower, until he learns how to play ****ing defence.

'Spoon - Charlie Mac
Zadoroff - Peake
Oesterle - Carlo

It appears, as alluded to in earlier posts, that Marchand wasn't quite 100% recovered from his offseason procedures. I honestly felt as though his intensity was there night after night and he'd eventually hit his stride if he stayed within his game and didn't press, that appears to be happening. Freddie's game seems to be headed the opposite way and seems to have deserted him, far too many times he's caught totally out of position which in the past was one of his strengths. He's definitely trying to do too much and it's painful to watch at times. have to wonder if concerns over his contract status aren't creeping in and impacting his game.

It seems to me that Lohrei's play in his own end has improved markedly in the past few games although it clearly has a long way to go. The D-man I'm close to at the end of my rope with is Zadarov. He's averaging over a penalty per game and at least half of them are of the stupid/self indulgent variety. His ass may need the view from upstairs for a game or two, something has to be done.

Freddie shouldn't be centering a line right now; too much responsibility until he stops pressing... Just let him crash the boards for the two Smoothies...

Laurie has the Worst +/- among Defensemen on the team, and by a couple. He's simply not NHL-ready at this time.

Did you miss the part where I said I thought Lohrei's play in his own end has improved markedly the last few games although it still has a long way to go? Have you been able to watch the past few games? I ask because the scheduling conflicts with B's/C's/Pats have been unusually f'd up of late.

Lohrei's play in his own end has a long way to go but it has honestly improved of late. Unfortunately with Hampus Lindholm out the team needs all the up ice puck movement it can get from the blueliners, Lohrei isn't getting demoted.
