So the games begin.

He may actually play in this one.

The Broncos have signed DB Marquice Cole, recently released by the Patriots, according to a league source.

Given the available alternatives, this is actually a good signing for them.

Wasn't he involved in that botched punt return that helped us beat them earlier this year?

lol Brady will pick on him all game long & abuse him badly if he plays.

Yeah cause this strategy worked sooooooo well for the Colts....

We're in their head. Love it. Ole horse head Elway must have a Mile High case of rectus constrictus.

I actually had a feeling this would happen after news broke of Chris Harris' ACL injury. Right below that headline on the forum was a tweet from him and I remember thinking that they would probably sign him because they need some help, he's available, and has experience with the Pats. If he plays, he should be targeted early and often.

Fixed.

Someone over on the Broncos forum said he was a solid player and this will end up being a good signing. Boy are they in for a surprise.

Time to re-sign Tebow because he was a Bronco.

I kid.

Is it okay if I argue vehemently that Cole has tarnished is accomplishments with the Patriots and has stabbed the organization in the back?

I'm willing to push the thread to 12 pages, if necessary.

It worked out so well for the Colts and Deion Branch why the hell not.

Seriously though I don’t actually think this was about gamesmanship. The Patriots top 3 passing options are Edelman, Amendola and Vereen all of them are primarily slot, underneath or intermediate receivers. Cole is a decent CB in the slot, not someone I would want playing the role but given the alternatives on the free agent market I actually think it was solid acquisition. Cole is also very, very good on special teams as a gunner in punt coverage and with Edelman as the punt returner Cole will certainly help.

If someone scores on him, I strongly hope that they stand over him, staring at the crowd, flexing their bicep to give him some flashbacks to last year.

This is great news if he plays.

Cole had about 2 orders of magnitude fewer accomplishments to tarnish than Branch did, even if he did make an excellent catch on the McCourty-Cole interception. Please make do with a short paragraph plus at most 2 replies.

This one doesn't hurt my feelings as much for some reason.

Agreed.

However, the real good news is that their starter is out. The patriots like would have singed Cole also, if one of our top four CB's were injured.

If Cole is their #4 CB, I don't expect him to see much action.

This is great news if he plays.
