Go find him on 2billsdr under the name Einstein...

McDermott is a fine coach... He will bring a stable presence to most teams with average ownership...

He won't build a championship team, but he will,b or rather should, be able to build a competitive team which some cities desperately need...

If it hasn't been filled, Atlanta would be a decent place... Along with Cleveland... They have a defense he could build off of while looking for a QB... But risky because the haslams are the definition of front office chaos...

He'd be a good get for a team like the raiders... Stability a plus while they also look for the QB of the future...

The jete should fire Glenn and bring him in but they are dumb down there and won't...
Think Atlanta hired Stefanski. That said he and Tomlin are wonder twins of mediocrity.

Bill lost his fastball at least five years ago. Rex lost his at least ten years ago. They are both has-beens, IMO.
I posted it for the entertainment factor. I would love to see it happen.

Yes, Allen is also to blame, but with no time outs, there is really no chance to get into FG range. It's the head coach's job to weigh the best options. In this case, the odds of getting into FG range with no time outs were slim to none and the bad outweighed the good The only chance was a long side line pass which Den had covered. Anything deep over the middle, time would have expired. Knowing his QB sometimes is a bonehead, maybe it should have been explained to him, if not there, throw it away, you can't run.

I don't know, the idea that the coach is to blame when your veteran QB makes one of the most boneheaded individual plays imaginable doesn't sit right with me. It wasn't just taking off running up the middle of the field, which would have been bad enough. It was wildly faking a pass 5 yards past the line of scrimmage, then still not tucking the ball away but carrying it in one hand away from his body as defenders swarmed.

That said, Allen is more than good enough to win with if you build a strong team around him. Firing the coach but leaving the personnel dept. in place is like painting over a stain on your ceiling without tracking down the leak.

McDermott's made the playoffs 6 straight years. Harbaugh couldn't do that with a 2-time MVP QB.
Unless you think he's the second coming of Saint dungy of Tampa, what's the point ? It's 6 or one half dozen... Balt. should have just kept harbaug if that's the case...

McDermott couldn't get over the hump with Prime Josh Allen, who is,big you listen to the talking heads, the best player in the game right now... You think Lamar Jackson is at another level compared to Allen?

Yeah because no NFL team wants to hire him.

People keep forgetting he is 73 years old and hasn't coached a winning playoff team since 2018.

It doesnt take away from his past to recognize he isnt a great HC anymore.

No one escapes father time.
No, because he wants to leave UNC in better shape for his son to take over the program. BB already signed a better QB for 2026.

Any NFL owner who is looking for a HC would be foolish not to speak with BB.

I think Lamar Jackson got cheated out of his 3rd MVP last season, so yes, I think he's better than The Tom Brady of Jameis Winstons.

I also think Baltimore has a better roster top to bottom.

I love BB... But I wouldn't, not anymore... Two years ago? Maybe a Different story... Now? He's 74, not as focused as he used to be, and something I'd never thought would happen, his private life, once jealously guarded, is a tabloid distraction... Not a guy id be looking at to head up a team nowadays

Im not sure I agree, but, my knowledge of the Baltimore roster beyond a few names could fill a thimble... I'll take your word on that point... But if Baltimore is looking for a guy to put them over the top, McDermott has not shown himself to be that guy... Ymmv on that opinion

He'd do the same thing there he did in Buffalo... The same thing they fired harbaugh for, not winning
I think the big difference is that Baltimore has a good GM and good ownership. The talent cupboard won’t run bare there the way it has in Buffalo.

Owner's statement:

So if he added to his statement that "we owe it to Bills Mafia to move on to a new direction" and finished with "So I have decided to sell this team to better ownership, THEN it would have made sense, but in lieu of that this move was ridiculous.

Christ, didn't anyone notice that the reason we had 9 openings in one season is because HC's who can win consistently are ****ing HARD to find, and the Bills had one of them. Now they just have the HOPE they will find another, who MIGHT be as good,

Haven't we realized that most Superbowl's are won by teams who were a ref's call, or an errant bounce, or miraculous play or an injury away from defeat. Haven't these weekends' games shown us just how ARBITRARY the gap between victory and defeat really are. It is the minority of superbowl winners who are demonstrably better like the 85 Bears or the 2024 Eagles, or 2004 Patriots. The rest are there because of some vagaries that occurred during the playoffs.

Teams that win the Superbowl are ALL good. But MOST have to have had a little bit of luck along the way as well. Firing a guy for not getting to game, but was constantly getting you into position is foolishness, imho, ESPECIALY when don't have a transition plan already in place, This wasn't the case where the HC's message was getting old. He had his team playing hard and still moving forward DESPITE being both flawed and unlucky. Sounds like an owner was listening to Felger rather football people (or me) There is a reason why there always seems to be 6-10 openings every year, because it is so HARD to win games in the NFL consistently. We and a few other franchises might be spoiled, to that fact. But the rest of league isn't and McDermott will be out of a job exactly how long he wants to be.

BTW- I heard an awesome stat today - for the last FIFTEEN years the AFCCG has had either the Patriots or KC in the game That's 15 years. And that doesn't look like it's going to end soon.

Am I yelling? Sometimes when I'm ranting I start to yell. I need to stop now, my ears are ringing.

I'm on that program too. 2026 Bill Belichick is not 2004 Bill Belichick.

The explanation is that the Pagulas have no idea what they're doing, and are listening way too much to a *player*.

You mean over-confident owners might pay too much attention to an incompetent personnel guy who has their ear? Nah. Eliot Wolf is there on merit, there on merit, you hear me?
