It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Losing the Division to New England and seeing them ahead of them in the AFC Championship game was probably the final straw. Had they won the AFC East, they probably wouldn't have been in Denver, which I'm sure has ownership frustrated. Especially since if ever there was a year for Allen to finally have a shot, this was it.
Instead, the door is now wide open for the Patriots, which would be a kick in the teeth up there in Buffalo. So I'm excited.
McDaniel with Lamar would be interestingWeird year too because there's very few good candidates to replace these guys. I feel like most of the guys who got fired are all just going to end up taking the jobs of someone else who got fired. Harbaugh replacing Daboll, Daboll replacing McDermott, McDermott replacing McDaniel, McDaniel replacing Harbaugh, etc...
I meant Josh cause that seems to come up here when there's a coaching job open. He's not going anywhere.I think people on this thread were talking about Mike McDaniel and not Josh McDaniels
But I could be wrong
I have to agree.
Imagine what Belichick could have done if he didn't lose his mind beginning with the night of SB 52. (The Pats would have won three straight SB's - 51,52,53 - he either could have won more with Brady going forward or he would have been in the same postion right now with the Buffalo Bills job landing in his lap).
A great mind is a terrible thing to waste.
They obviously have picked a new coach behind closed doors.
I agree. The most interesting part of this story is not Buffalo. It's where McDermott will go next. He's an excellent head coach. His teams always play hard for him and he's developed a ton of good players from the NFL's least attractive backwater location. The fan base is excellent, but who wants to go to a third-tier media market where it's as close to the tundra as you can get?I can see Miami going hard after McDermott.
I think Vegas would be interested too.
If you are Vegas with Mendoza coming a package McDermott HC / Daboll OC could be tempting
One year too late in my opinion, so I'm not shocked. In all honesty, for a team that just needs to get over the hump and could use a guy for 2-3 seasons to do that, the nightmare scenario would be seeing Belichick end up there. But I don't know who he'd have for a staff, especially on offense, and that would likely be a big key to that and hurt his chances of that happening.
If that play was ruled a catch and not an interception they're in New England this week in basically a 50/50 game with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line instead he's fired.
