One year too late in my opinion, so I'm not shocked. In all honesty, for a team that just needs to get over the hump and could use a guy for 2-3 seasons to do that, the nightmare scenario would be seeing Belichick end up there. But I don't know who he'd have for a staff, especially on offense, and that would likely be a big key to that and hurt his chances of that happening.

I legitimately have ZERO idea how they fire McDermott but then not only keep Beane, but PROMOTE him... insanity... that franchise is going nowhere fast. They will screw up their HC hire, and McDermott will end up going somewhere with a halfway decent front office and be successful. Just watch.
