Brandon LaFell

Because it was unnecessary and was done, in part, to show up the competition after two long 80 yard drives by the Pats.
And you know this how? Did you become a mind reader all of a sudden and were able to read what Belichick was thinking?

22 year old rookie, but sure.

22 year old, 1st round draft pick, who is starting for the Eagles. You said starter.. Now you are changing the goal posts because someone pointed out your flawed argument..

I'm way more disappointed in Chandler than LaFell. LaFell is streaky and can be really bad or really good...he is being asked to do a lot, including being a downfield threat, which he is not.

Chandler really sucks. Even with Gronkowski taking away multiple linebackers and safeties, he is still useless. He looks like he's playing in slow motion, and you hold your breath every time the ball is thrown his way that he won't bat it up in the air for an interception.

I think Lafell is a good complimentary piece in our offense. Generally he is the #4 target. Last couple weeks he's been the #2 option, thus drawing much more of the defenses eye. I don't think he's ever going to thrive in that situation.

However, I think he has better football ahead of him, as I doubt he is quite up to speed yet after his injury.

Alshon Jeffrey is a FA next year, but will most likely command huge money. Michael Crabtree is going to be a FA and could be affordable.. after them, it's a lot of middle of the road guys that are just lIke LaFell (Like Muhammad Sanu, James Jones, Travis Benjamin

Benjamin's been pretty good this year with some mediocre QB play. He's the kind of guy I could see the Patriots bringing in. Jeffrey is going to cost way too much. Brian Quick is another possibility as a reclamation project, and Marvin Jones may be worth a look as a big play guy.

Big name to keep an eye on? Josh Gordon.

LaFell is what he is.....a good number 4 or 5 option. When we rely on him to be our number 1, there are problems. He should be behind Edleman, Gronk, Amendola and our receiving RB.
He has had quite a few drops this year, my dad and brothers have nicknamed him stone hands.

I do get your frustration. He really does not look good out there mostly.

Hell, given the WR situation I'd say we should give Justin Blackmon a serious look in training camp.. he's back from another 1 year suspension and certainly can't demand big money with his laundry list of problems.

He's a big time playmaker when he's not failing drug tests lol

Se i think he's better than a #4 or 5..just look at last year....idk if being out first 6 this year hurt him..is he still hurt...either way...gotta make those plays

Gordon's just suspended for the season, but Blackmon's suspended indefinitely and it's not clear to me that he'll ever be reinstated. But yeah, if the Patriots could pluck 2013 Gordon and Blackmon out of the air and have them magically turn into model citizens, they might start putting up 50 a game.

You have developed this penchant for over-reaction. Claiming that LaFell drops nearly everything is such complete and utter BS it's disgusting.

lol. I see what u did there.

There was that one that bounced off his chest at the end zone against Denver. It's not just the drops, but some crucial ones. More time with the jugs machine. The kind of thing he can work on. He's no Butterfinger McGee, but he's no Beckham either. I'd say he is in the middle of the pack.

I almost said the same thing.

His timing is off, still. And his drops have been no more crucial than Edelman's, Amendola's, Gronkowski's, etc..

It's funny how everyone is criticizing LaFell and touting Martin, yet Mark Daniels just tweeted the following:

Mark Daniels @MarkDanielsPJ
I had Keshawn Martin with four drops, Amendola with two and LaFell, Chandler and Bolden with one a piece

Have you seen Justin Blackmon lately?? He look like he has ate his way up to the Offensive Line. Blackmon doesn't look like a WR anymore.

Ahh good to know.. I didn't have any info on him, just saw his name on a list of 2016 free agent wide receivers

Talk about a total waste of talent... that guy could be making stupid Dez Bryant type money in the league right now but couldn't stop getting popped for drugs, DUI etc. .

Are people playing up Martin? The difference between LaFell and Martin is that LaFell is supposed to be a major part of the offense, as he was last season, while Martin is merely a back-of-the-roster type who's been forced into more than spot duty by injuries. We don't expect anything of Martin.

Amendola's two drops were, unfortunately, pretty big ones in the scheme of the game, but he otherwise played a pretty good game.

Nothing's easy in life, but I have to admit that there's just something about players...who get paid so much....who have this as the sole focus of their lives...when they can't CATCH A BALL it drives me a little batty.

LaFell is what he is a boder line #3 option but solid #4 he's no Dez Bryant or Julio Jones. One thing with LaFell lately he's been talking alot but all his talking hasn't translated to the playing field. A Hobbled Amendola was more effective than him. Shut up! LaFell and go hit the Jugs! enough is enough.

Trying to catch an oblong shaped object whizzing at you at over 50 mph, while a number of men who weigh up to 50 lbs more than you charge your way with murder in their eyes, in front of 60,000 screaming people, with a million more watching you on TV... well, I can see why it's not always easy.

LaFell is not a deep threat and never was. Neither is Chandler. More times then not...they won't catch that ball and Brady will get hit once again.

Short to medium passes inside and outside the numbers was the game plan last season and up until 2 games ago. Play goal line the whole field if necessary.

Hand the ball off to whoever is getting most yardage.
