But there was no investigation or threat of investigation when Tom talked to the equipment guy
Correct, I believe we were in "should be wrapped up in 2-3 days" territory at this point.

I dont know if yee making media rounds is helping or improving the situation. From our point of view he is doing awesome, from the outside it seems everyone is trying to discredit him...

If I were neutral in this whole thing, I'd find the whole timeline kind of hilarious.

"This shouldn't take too long, it's such a stupid complaint."
"Wow, an investigation? Should wrap up in a couple of days though."
"WOW, it's going to take several weeks according to Wells? Well, as long as they get it right."
"So, by several weeks they meant several MONTHS, apparently? This is getting ridiculous."
"103 days and 243 pages to report: All I know is my guy says maybe. Flip the table. This game is stupid."

This is a doozie here.

"YEE: I don’t accept that. I don’t even accept that because it’s very clear, the report actually lays out the absence of any league protocols on how to handle footballs. There are no protocols. For example, every referee can buy any gauge to use in measuring the footballs. Number two — no measurements are even written down or recorded. In fact, the Wells investigators simply had to rely on referee Walt Anderson’s memory."

"YEE: I do think there was some malice intended toward Tom and the organization. I don’t know if the malice was intentional. They’ve been winning for a long time, as we know, and I’ve always told my friends who’ve inquired about the NFL — I tell them, there is no jealousy or envy like NFL jealousy or envy."

Blakeman, one of the officials recording psi's might well have a thing against the Patriots.

It is his job to take the first wave brunt. As we saw with what happened in January, everyone piled on and then as time went on and things became more clear most backed off a great deal. The Wells report is a slap in the face that stings but it is not a body blow and will be easily discredited. Look at the number of folks in the Press who didn't buy in to it from the start. This is very different than what happened in January.

If Mythbusters does do this, it will make the NFL look like the fools they are and give them a body blow far above the slap of the Wells report. Everyone write to Mythbusters and urge them to do the experiment. http://www.discovery.com/tv-shows/mythbusters/about-this-show/mythbusters-submit-a-myth/

"Malice intended"...that's what you have to prove for defamation isn't it?

Pretty clear what route Yee & Brady are going.

Don't know how that can be the case when in the next sentence he says "I don't know if the malice was intentional."

But he also refers to the 25000$ fine for air pressure in footballs in the interview with dan patrick . Why would he do that unless he wants all this as part of appeals to a suspension ?

They are trying to discredit us regardless if we voice opposition or not.

Why am I seeing that tim haseelback thinks it is very likely Brady gets suspended in the patsfans headlines?

Isn't he a pundit on espn's fantasy football show? What credability does he have? Guy played like 6 games in his career.

Reminder: the term here is actual malice, which is a misnomer. Rather, it means that the publisher either knows the information is false, or at the least entertains serious doubts about its truthfulness, and publishes it anyways.

Strictly speaking, evil intent isn't necessary (the publisher doesn't have to know that the statement will cause harm). Also, actual malice isn't necessary if the defamee is not considered a public figure.

It's hilarious that people are pushing the narrative that if Brady had admitted to wrong doing it would have been no big deal. Isn't that what happened with spygate?

The headline ticker can be useful at times, but also nauseating.

That does make things a bit clearer to me.

Can someone who has read the report shed some light what is this that he is talking about ?

Yee is talking about the fact that the NFL purposely left out of the report the content of the text messages that went back and forth between Brady and Jastremski despite the fact that the league had full access to those messages through Jastremski's phone.

Yee also is saying that other QBs don't have the same relationship with the part-time equipment guys as Tom does. Which is probably true since we know that Tom is a good guy and goes out of his way to treat people fairly. Unlike other QBs around the league.
