Brady's 9:1 ratio for a full season is being vastly underappreciated

Take a Prozac. I was responding to someone who wrote:

"Yeah but since we lost in the playoffs, spoiled fans don't really care, because they have to have everything their way or they will pout and forget about all great things that have come their way"

after Brady had already made his position clear when accepting the MVP award.

If one of us needs to find more support and appreciation, it would appear to be you. I suggest you might be better off just sticking to official team press releases. That way you can avoid even the appearance of a discouraging word.

And I was responding ot a poster who said "no one cares", since we lost to the Jets.

TFB said that he didn't care about the MVP awards. That fine. But fans should care about his achievments, unless they have a what have you done for me today attitude.

But perhaps I'm a different type of fan than others. I could not even dare to dream about what this team and TFB has accomplished over the past 10 years. I always want them to win every game amd I always want them to win every championship. But if they don't, I'm not forgetting the great accomplishments and all the joy this team has given me during this great run.

I was bitterly disappoinited with the loss to the Jets. The Jets of all friggin teams. But I'm still not pouting about it weeks later and using that to deminish the accompliments of the team, even this years team.

And I absolutely think that there is a certain percentage of our fan base that are spoiled, and act like it. That's OK, too. But if there are such fans, why is it wrong to point it out?

Random sucks.
Random is Mathews creating a fumble, making a
heroic film clip moment that salvaged his
otherwise poorly played game.

Random, the ball bounces that way, Crumpler drops it?.

I hate random.

I am so gassed for next year, already.
OMFG, baseball.

OT: I need another hobby.
Anyone know anything about editing film?
Damn, theres a lot of info, software, all that.
Any pointers would be appreciated.
I favor simple common sense.
You know, the US spent millions on a pen that would write in
gravity free space.

Russians just used a pencil.
I like that.

Don't forget his "consecutive pass attempts without an INT" streak is still active and he'll be able to add on to it next season.

So is his 3 game playoff losing streak and 2 game MVP season ended by NY WC team streak.

First, Brady being a true competitor will never be 100% satisfied with his preformance because there is always room to grow. Second, football being a team sport depends on more than even a perfect preformance from any one player. Third, being a FAN of any team has not only the ability to relize the shortcomeings of the team and wish to improve upon them but also the ability to recognize the strengths and accomplishments of the same team and voice your support and appreciation to the team and its individuals. Lacking this ability you no longer are a FAN and might be better suited to find a more suitable team to meet your expectations. There for if you have only the ability to be criticle of the accomplishments of the Patriots , why are you here? I suppose that if these negitive attack are the only way to garner attention that you seen to crave by attacking fans of the Pats so be it but you might find more support and appreciation in a different forum.

Its not that serious, we choked. Being a fan also means having the right to be upset with the performance of the team you rooted, paid money to, and saw dominate for every game that didn't mean win or go home.

I remember I made a topic calling Brady's pick on the first drive of the first playoff game, of course I was called an idiot and guess what happened. Some people are just homers, this team is not the same at handling pressure, any win or INT streak going into the playoffs next year will spell disaster.

One thing I do remember is the Patriots still hold the record for consecutive play off wins at 10. Have the record for consecutive games won (includeing playoffs) at 21. Only team to reach an undefeated reg. season of 16 games. Most points in any one season at 589. Four superbowl appearences. Three superbowl wins. Just to mention a few accomplishments, all occuring in the last 10 years. With such negitive out looks in the best years of the franchise I can't imagine how misrable you must have been pre 2001. Or maby their was no pre 2001 fandom of the Patriot you .

I don't think all that was random at all. Mathews made a play or which he deserves credit. Crumpler fudged a play, which cost his team. Nothing random about it, it was player performance...good in the first case, poor in the second. You'd save a lot of angst by not worrying about "what if" contrafactual and hypotheticals.

Btw, NASA also used a pencil initially...but moved on to the space pen due to the hazards of broken pencil tips lying around in 0-g and potentially combustible wooden pencils. The Russians now also use the space pen.

Who said I am miserable? I just don't like when people make a failed season out to be so awesome or a moral victory because of rebuild mode. Yea it was awesome until we let a **** team beat us, now an INT streak next year means Jack.

So, would you like a cookie for being an elitist fan? Whats your point?

I don't see a division championship in one of the more competitive divisions in the league as a failed season.
I don't see a 14-2 regular season as a failed season.
I don't see that an overachieving rebuilding team decimated preseason with the loss of starters on the DL, CB, and OL, not to mention many talented back ups, was a failure reaching the play offs.
Shoure they gave you the ability to have higher expectations than you started the season with because of their competitive desire and dedication to succeed. But you can not discount the fact that everyone knew this was one of a few rebuilding years, and not many teams are fortunate enough to go 14-2 in that situation.
Also it does HURT to have been taken out by a team who for the last few years main objective was beat the pats, makeing us there super bowl. And spending so much time in the press to convince themselves as well as the rest of the sporting community that they were good (all talk, wen't 2 for 3 on a rebuilding Pats team). But isn't it realy pritty pathetic that there sole mindset going into the season is to convince every one they can compete with the pats. WE got caught in there once in 42 year flare up and will now be witness to their burning themselves out. Built for one and done.
As far as the interseption streak, HELL YEA i wan't to see it grow because it will help increase our rate of victory. Possibly one more rebuilding year to complete the defensive needs and address the OL needs, then on to the next dynasty.

It seems that some of you derive waaaaay too much of your self-esteem from Patriots success. When we've gotten to the point that fans...FANS...are being derided for appreciating an unbelievable accomplishment in a season that fell short of a championship, it might be time to switch to decaf.

Wilt's 100 in a game. Williams batting .400. Robertson averaging a triple-double for an entire season. Any Cy Young. Any MVP. Celebrate any regular-season accolade or accomplishment whatsoever in a non-title season and you're the Dreaded Colts Fan.*

You people have got to be joking. Newsflash: You don't play for the Patriots. You look like an idiot when you post things like, "The only award I care about is SB MVP," or "It all means nothing unless we take the Lombardi home."

Someone made a point about the worst time to be on this board, when people are at the height of their misery, but there's really only one time: every day of a season in which the Pats don't win the SB. Boy, are you not ready for the time when Brady and BB are gone. There'll be a mass suicide watch.

*Yet another nugget of wisdom from Deus. Thanks for making us better people, buddy.

It realy seems like there are a good number of NONFANS romeing these boards. They maskerade as Patriots fans for lack of a better team to align them selves with, but have nothing more than critisism for any and all Pats news or oppinions short of winning the super bowl. Makes me wonder what miraculus accomplishments these people of such high quality standards have accomplished in there lives. These so called fan deserve less respect than traveling trolls because the trolls at least actively support a team of there choice. I guess the success of the Pats has attracted every fair weather fan like moths to the flame.
