Bonds' trainer mentions Brady--LINK

thanks for the clarification folks.

I understand what Anderson said in his statement...one conversation...potential work out...didn't tell anyone (if you believe this I have a bridge to sell you).

Given this guy's total lack of credibility, the questions we should be asking are:

1. will the grand jury (who is in possession of some kind of evidence and is pushing this on Tom) take Anderson at his word.
2. will the media take Anderson at his word.

This guy is pleading the fifth on Bonds but everyone's suddenly in la la land when the court demands a response from Anderson on Brady in an investigation which originally had a much smaller scope.

there are so many holes in this Anderson guy I can't even believe you are all dismissing this based on his testimony...10-20 names???...they know EXACTLY how many guys are named and carefully decided, for some reason, to single out Tom in the statement.

Why am I the only one here pissed off at the inquiry???

THIS IS YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK PEOPLE...WAKE THE F UP

p.s. everyone knows Tom put on 20-25 pounds in a calendar year...that's why I'm afraid people will start connecting dots...EVEN WHERE THEY DON'T EXIST.

Obviously it's not "good pub". It'll pretty much be irrelevant though.

I don't think it's going to be irrelevant. After what has transpired, pretty much everyone is going to assume that there is only one reason why a professional athlete would call this particular trainer and it's not to learn how to run faster. I have no doubt that Brady is clean but there are going to be alot of questions after this and if nothing else, it has tarnished what was a spotless reputation. I don't know about you but I don't even want to hear any accusations about the players on my team whether they're valid or not.

People like you will make this a story where there is none!

Accusations don't tarnish anything if there's nothing to them.

Too funny,

Unfortunately if this story spins out of control it will be thanks to people like you who will make this story more then Brady having one phone conversation with a trainer who at the time was just considered the best trainer in the area, nothing more.

Thanks!

Sarge, I appreciate your belief in my power of persuasion, but I'm pretty sure the grand jury won't turn on what I say in a message board.

My guess, despite Taildragger's conclusion, is non-story. However I feel pretty good about Tom's chances with the league, given his squeeky clean performance thus far. We can all live without this kind of stuff, but if there's anything to it, as I said, people get themselves stoned out of their minds on illegal drugs, and still get three strikes before they're out. I don't remember - did they change that this year? I still don't think they're at first-offense-1-year-suspension-mode, are they? If not, even in the worst case, we're okay.

Sheesh.

WEEI is reporting that it was Anderson that called BRADY!
...one phone call that Brady turned down his 'offer'...seems to me like Tom Brady comes out smelling like roses again!

Did you hear Jermaine call up Dennis and Callahan stating that he bet the media wouldn't even mention this?

Of course, his position is that if the media doesn't instantly treat Brady the same way it treats Barry Bonds (who of course actually admitted to *unknowingly* using steroids) than it proves the media is racist.

But let's let the chips fall where they may... since Bonds and Brady went to the same high school its not completely out of the realm of possibility that Brady might seek out local trainers for when he was back in CA

well put.

I could've saved myself some humiliation here if I'd just said that instead of thinking out loud.

look, I have no conclusions. I'm an idiot for thinking this through on this board but honestly my friends are mainly fans of other teams and they're sick of me using them as a sounding board.

good news is that I don't see this being reported this morning on the major outlets.

although failed conspiracies happen all the time, I'm not conspiracy theorist...just a tad paranoid when it comes to our franchise qb.

Mike Greenberg is talking about it right now on ESPN Radio (Mike & MIKE Show). Sure is getting a lot of play for one phone call.

I said people like you. Of course you probably know that.

Nice try though!

C'mon Six, don't get all common-sensical. It gets in the way of a good story.

His name has appeared in one of the biggest scandals in sports history. There is always going to be a little "what if" in the back of people's minds from here on out unless the trainer himself comes out and says that he flat out lied.

This is not even guilt by association. There was no association.

But, that will not stop the media from bringing it up. Also, fans of other teams will claim that Tom used roids because they hate the Patriots and they hate Brady.

This is a non story to me. I heard about it on the raidio just briefly. When I heard the names and nothing else I was popping from station to station to get more info.

Then when I heard that one phone call was made, I thought here they go again. Mountain out of ant hill time.

From what I understand it was the trainer that called Brady, not the other way around.

If that is true, and Brady declined his services this is akin to a drug dealer implicating a Movie star because he offered drugs to them and they said no. Silly and a non-issue.

DOH!!! Okay, so that means people who talk about it. Doesn't that make people like you the enablers? (People who will talk about how people shouldn't even talk about it?)

The perennially deluded Jets fans over at the Jets web forum are having a field day with this saying that an asterik needs to be placed before all the phoney Pats superbowls. They're speculating that the NFL will rescind the Pats trophys. Gota luv the jealousy.

LMAO... this is the kind of story that has legs for about 5 minutes, people hoping against hope that it's true so they can have another excuse for SUCKING so bad.

Just when we allllll got over the "Tuck Rule/League Gave It To NE Because of 9/11" conspiracy theory.

Bingo! I hadn't look over there but I can imagine.

As I had posted , the fans and some media will always bring up roids about Tom now, because they hate the Patriots and hate Brady.

But, I do wonder what this board would look like if the exact same story would have come out about Peyton. I would like to say that I wouldn't let my hate for them rule my mind- but ------.

OK - what do you figure 250 replies? Maybe 500? This will become the number 2 thread in Patsfans history (nobody catches the cheerleaded thread, currently over 700).

It's garbage, pure garbage - makes me sick. I cannot wait until TB responds, and I think he will have to as this gets more airplay.

I myself have had an interesting contact with Tom Brady......

I went to a Pats TC a week or so back and was wearing women's undergarments under my shirt and cargo shorts.

I was seated down near the field and lots of us were yelling at Tom and stuff and he looked up and smiled and waved back and stuff.

I had yelled "Hey Tom, guess what I have on?" and when he smiled and waved back at the stands, I know he was looking right at me and knew what I was talking about.

I have contacted Gail and Laura at The Inside Track and they will probably run with a Tom-wears-Victoria's Secret story soon
