This week the guy this board loves to hate is getting some love for his run blocking. Deservedly so.
But he has been doing this consistently all year. He is best blocker on the team outside OL. And its not even close.
Is that worth pick #32? No. But he is on the field & big part of success run game that is the foundation of this offense.

Some people say well then move him to TE. What does it matter? BB wants all his “skill players“ to do their job blocking.
Its just that Harry does it best atm. Which is huge since the rest of them blocked really poorly this year. Even TEs could not be trusted.
They are improving and that helps along with healthy starting OL.

The thing that went “viral“ was this demolition of Garrett:

But this is whats hes doing all year (stamp not working > go to 4:13):

Here some more of his work from yesterday.

He could turn to be the x factor tight end we were pining for. Give him more of the seam routes... Let's see how it goes. Could become like Aaron Hernandez I guess..

Of course he's going to demolish Garrett if it's a wham block. That's overblown.. not to take away from the great work he did, but a wham block properly executed allows even the smallest WR to take out the biggest, baddest DE.

It was part of the overall strategy in neutralizing Garrett- we did a great job on that front. We absolutely dominated in blocking as the game got along.

Harry's Blocking

He might be able to get punched in the face a few more times for us too, ill take it!

It is curious that Hoyer comes in twice and throws successfully to Harry twice, but Mac rarely targets him. What is that? Harry is lost within the more complicated schemes?

Please just let this guy go.

he’ll be out of NFL in 2 years.

he’s a historically bad WR but a good blocker

Give the beast an extension.

Let's not go overboard. Harry is not a good receiver. But he's a better blocker than Jonnu. Jonnu has great after-the-catch skills but keeps getting pigeonholed into blocking (which he's bad at). I'm fine if we give Harry a lot of the snaps that TE Dwayne Allen used to play.

Harry plays the run packages.
Meyers-Agholor-Bourne-Henry-Bolden played pass packages most time.
Its how they are best used atm. Its how it works.

When Hoyer came in Harry replaced Agholor on the outside.

When we win the SB this year or next, he'll have his JD Drew "$70 million grand slam" moment.

That's the thing.... sooner or later, the opposing team will have to match up a LB on Harry. I know he has trouble running routes against cbs, but he should be able to destroy most LBs on play action. SHOULD.

Garbage time blocking with Hoyer?! Or did he see the field in the first half?

Harry was on for 52 percent of the plays (35 snaps). So yes, more than garbage time and more than the second half.

A lot been said about Harry as a WR but he certainly can block for the team.

Maybe Harry is learning to block and then he will be released into routes against linebackers. Harry would destroy linebackers and if the other defense substitutes to add a CB to cover Harry, then run the ball. I think BB developed this cunning plan why scouting Kyle Pitts for the draft. ;)
