Rham is also only 1800 yards or so away from being our career rushing yards leader. We havent had a RB last long enough to challenge Sam Cunningham. Could be Rham.
That's crazy, considering when Cunningham played...

If RKK had ponied up and paid Martin, different story... But he was afraid to commit that much in guaranteed money... Losing him was brutal...

Yup, spot on.
Just question giving out a $22M AAV to a guy who plays a role we seem to have covered here, by young guys getting better.
Between Hollins/Diggs and Boutte, we have some uncertainty on the longer term, so 100% we should add in the draft, gotta restock the coffers.
I would prefer spending FA $ on defense and maybe TE if there is a guy you believe in (has Pitts finally turned the corner?).

I prefer to spend free agent money on OL, but that depends on who is available. Like left tackle and last year I don't want them spending money on bottom of the barrel guys just to fill a need. So if guys like Lindebaum and McGovern are all gone then spend elsewhere and draft interior OL. There are always top center and guard prospects in day 2 of the draft if the guys they really want in free agency aren't available.

What do you think Pierce will command?
I have seen projections in the $22M AAV area.
And to your point, our passing stats are really good currently, is adding a guy on a contract north of $20M worth it?
I like the player, and trust in Vrabs decision. Just not sure spending that on an already really good passing attack with young guys that continue to get better is the best way to spend FA money.
They don’t have to add any free agent WR’s, if they stuck exclusively to the draft next offseason at the position it wouldn’t bother me… I’d probably say it’s the smartest decision. The position is overvalued in free agency and contracts are bloated.

I underestimated him, though not without reason. For a couple of years there he just had too many spells featuring three yards of step-forward-and-fall-down running, then we got the fumblefest. He's still inconsistent on early downs and short yardage situations; but he does have knack for the occasional flash play, he can and does block, and his receiving skills have really shown out.

So I'm maybe 80% of the way toward changing my mind about him, but a good 20% of me suspects he's gonna **** this up one way or another. I'd be happy to be wrong, though, We'll see.

That's how I would address it, via the draft.
But.....I'm just a guy on a couch

That's where Im at.
They drafted Wilson to our future OC.
His OG play was ok, not great.
So, do we move him to OC and hit RG via FA or the draft, or pay a lot of $ for an OC in FA and keep him at RG and hope he he gets better?
I prefer the first option, but Vrabs and staff are smarter than us, so either path is fine with me.

Rookies and value vets is the best way to add to a team in the salary cap era. 2001 is the gold standard for miracles that can be performed using this method, they repeated it in 2003 and going forward.

They did it this season as well, nobody was hot for Bradbury, Moses, Tonga and others… these were value additions. There’s always deals to be found in the offseason.

If they can get Lindebaum I would do it and keep Wilson at OG, he can back up Centervwhen necessary. If they got McGovern I would move Wilson to Center and play McGovern at OG. Either way I think the offseason focus should be on the OL and front 7 defensively, the rest can come when they have those areas addressed at the highest level possible.

To make all that work (and it most certainly can), you need great to elite QB play.
I will pound that drum until the end of time. When you have an elite QB, anything is possible. They elevate the play of everyone, I've see it countless times over my 5 decades of watching the NFL.

100% agree on the needs.
OL and front 7 are priorities.
We need a stud pass rusher, and I would like a couple of LBs.
If we don't trust Bryant to develop we need a backup RT to take over for Mosses. And if Lowe leaves we need a serviceable swing tackle. And obv OC/LG needs attention, however we decide to attack that and where Wilson ultimately ends up. Even if we had the same interior next year, we need a developmental OG or 2 who can actually play, Wallace need not apply.

I would counter by saying you can’t have poor QB play, we’ve seen merely good QB’s like Flacco win one, even two rings when you consider Eli Manning or 4 when you consider Terry Bradshaw.

We’ve even seen barely good QB’s like Nick Foles, Trent Dilfer win rings. We’ve seen Joe Gibbs win 3 different rings with three different journeyman QB’s nobody wanted.

Conversely a couple years ago Patrick Mahomes was considered the most “elite” QB in the NFL and threatening the GOAT for the title of best ever. Now on an average team or at the end of the 2020 season due to injuries along his O-Line… an “elite” QB on a bad team becomes just another guy.

Consider Drake Maye last year, versus this one. Consider Caleb Williams last year, versus this one.

It’s a team sport, the 53 man roster and coaches are more important than any one player.

We'll need him to step up today and as far as they advance.

Le'Veon Bell that's who Rham reminds me of a guy who's a triple threat Running - Passing and Blocking.

He was our best player on offense last night. He should be getting a minimum of 15-20 touches right now imo

Rham should have touched the ball more last night. The last few weeks he has looked lights out. I like Henderson and they make a good 1-2 punch but right now it needs to be Rham leading us in the playoffs. The only thing Henderson currently has over Rham is another gear. He is not a better blocker, he is not a better pass catcher, he cant pound the ball between the hashes and he doesnt have the moves to work through traffic like Rham. Right now he primarily relies on his speed to get his yardage. I think he is going to be awesome over the next few years but for now I want Rham getting the majority of the touches as long as he doesnt put the ball on the ground.

Since his last fumble he's averaging 13 touches a game. In theory, I agree. Keep in mind sometimes a lot of touches are too many.

I thnk he was out for 3 games and they reduced his load for 2-3 games. But last 3 weeks he has been on major upswing .

If you look at his avs since his return it's 11 targets so 2 less. Last night was 14 targets.

Agreed , don’t wanna have him carry it 30 times or anything but i think he should get more than 13 touches when nobody else at the skill spots is really making alotta plays and hes making the first guy miss practically every time
