Blasphemy this week

We dominated the Jets too back in 2010.

Ravens are a playoff rival. I just don't want it. I'd much rather have Denver or Miami in that situation. They're like the Giants: they suck half of the time, then out of random perform in a way that's unexplainable. You can't name one playoff game we've had against them that wasn't fought tooth and nail.

For all I know, we might dominate them again in a rematch. But I feel 100% confident right now against Miami or Denver at home. I don't quite feel that way about Baltimore. Still confident, but I know how unpredictable they are.

So in that case why would I want them in the playoffs?
So you pick one game ever and that is your example of why we should t want to play a team we just dominated and are clearly better than.
It's dumb imo to waste energy wishing for playoff opponents. If we belong in the SB we will beat whoever gets in and hoping for bad teans to sneak in and then expect them to beat good teams so we don't have to play anyone is silly.

Back in the early days I used to root for the Jets, mainly because they were one of the original AFL teams and knocked the snot out of the NFLers in the SB. Then when KC followed that up with another win the next year I became a fan of both teams as long as it didn't hurt the Pats.

Since then the Jets have dropped off my list. They've pulled too much crap with us over the years. I still respect the Chiefs though. I still find myself pulling for them.

I don't care who wins tonight's game but I have it going to Miami in a 5-2 game.

I would also prefer to see denver and the ravens out of the playoffs all together....take our chances from there. Ill root for Miami tonight. Plus I dont hate them like the Jets.

If the Pats can win tomorrow against denver it will be unlikely denver makes the playoffs.

Always go against the Jets. It's written in their history. When they want good things to happen for the Jets, good things happen to the Pats. When they need bad things to happen for the Pats, worse things happen to the Jets. The Dolphins are on their own, just send a little Squish the Fish Karma their way and they'll get the hint. The Pats are so far above where these two franchises are, I think we can accept either one either getting in or getting a higher pick. It's time to finish of the rest of the league all the way to SB #5.

I rooted for the Jets once in my life, it was the last game of the year in 2008 when Brady was hurt and we needed the Jets to win so we would make the playoffs. Brett Favre was the QB. The Jets lost.

Do you know how much it sucks to root for the Jets and Brett Favre and then they lose? That was horrible. No way am I rooting for them tonight again!!

My hatred for the Jets was taken to the next level after that game. When Favre threw that pick six early in the 1st quarter I knew it was over. I would of loved to of seen the 2008 Pats in the playoffs.

Miami still has a chance to win the afc east so I have to root against them. Even though it kills me inside to root for the jets.

But the jets didn't kill Brady when he was blocking for Blount, so I still appreciate that!

This. The schedule is the schedule and we can't do anything about it. Only difference between regular season and playoff scheduling is we don't know who's on it yet.

Feel like most of us here are trapped in 2010. Jets don't deserve to be hated more than Miami anymore. **** Miami. They're in our division too.

Yeah, but even then in that scenario of us losing, nothing would make me sicker than watching Harbaugh and those pukes go on a run. That even includes Denver, for they at least don't have the Fivehead anymore.

Put it this way: if we didn't end up being good enough this year, would you rather lose to Baltimore or KC/Oakland? It would suck regardless, but losing to a team like that makes it suck all that much more.

All that being said, we look like we can beat anyone in the league right now. Hopefully more play like last Monday continues.

My mind knows I want the Jets to win, but my heart will never root for them to do so unless there are direct playoff implications for the Patriots, as in a scenario where we need the Jets to win to get into the post season.

We as patriot fans should be doing the most un heard of thing tonight.

Root for the jets. If they win the division is done. In fact before our game our bye might be clinched

The question is how many can do it

Disagree. The division is done regardless. The Dolphins are not winning the division, get real.

They still have to play @ Bills, a game they usually choke away, then play us. They'll be playing with Matt Moore. Plus they suck.

There's no need to shame yourself by rooting for the Jets just to wrap up the division a bit earlier. Don't compromise your integrity.

I rooted for the Jets once too. It was back in 1969 watching what became known as Superbowl III

If jets win we lock up the division. This is a no brainer anything else is emotional baggage. Ice up people.

Nope.
Do your job in Denver and all works out.

I couldn't care less who we lose to if we lose.

That's just me then. Losing to a Manning or Flacco will always be much worse than losing to a Carr or Smith, for example, IMO.

So far, it doesn't look like blaspheming has made any difference. Since getting out to a 7-0 lead, the Jets have been outscored 34-3. The lesson, as always, is don't rely on the Jets for anything.

Imagine believing game after game, year after year, that this team will reward your faith? Poor fools.

Thanks for nothing NY Jets. Not showing up at home in prime time isn't exactly a good look. You guys owe Todd Bowles big time. He's gonna get fired for losing the team, when in reality, the players showed no pride in what they do and who they are. Pathetic.
