Bills FA CB Stephon Gilmore signs 5-year deal w/New England

Butler deserves to be paid for the contributions he's made to two superbowl championship teams. I want him here for the rest of his career or at the very least his prime.

I don't think this look's good for butler. Maybe someone will sign him. Another thing how does this affect hightower? I still hope we can sign hightower. We will only have about 34 million dollars left in the cap. We can increase it by restructuring amendola's contract.

Assuming everyone except Ryan stays, I would assume Gilmore and Butler are the starters in normal sets (obviously) and when we need a slot, Butler would play that with two bigger CB, Gilmore and Rowe on the outside.

Is it possible that when the Pats talked to Butler about an extension they found out he wanted to be the highest paid corner in the league or some other outlandish demand?

Butler, Gilmore and Rowe make a very nice 1-3 combo and if Cyrus comes into this season without having to return kicks and just focus on defense would be a good 1-4 combo

To be honest I can't make sense of that signing unless Butler is on the way out. Gilmore is a completely different player than Ryan so he is no replacement for him. Weird.

Gilmore is a solid #1 CB so as a #2 in New England that's a fine pick up. (yes, he did get torched by Hogan...I'm sure the video will end up in this thread )

Would cost us a 5th round pick as he was tendered. Worth it? Probably.

Logan played in the slot quite a bit when Rowe was outside. I can only recall Gilmore playing outside in Buffalo. There may be more changes to come.
