Yes he can trade after 4...that's when it begins.
I was curious how that works with the tender.

that is all opinion
League favors quick strike passing offenses so unless you have a devastating pass rush......can count on one hand teams with those......your secondary becomes your first line of defense against the pass happy O's so that is where you put your money.Sure it's an issue.
You can still do what you proposed but the question is whether it's wise.
1/3 of the cap in the secondary isn't a great plan.
Gilmore is a year younger

What numbers are you looking at?No, the numbers say Butler was significantly better.

Well clearly we disagree about whether cap management is a long term or short term issue so we can just agree to disagree. It's not an issue. One need only look at the team's cap breakdown to see that.
A slight downgrade, but nothing dramatic.

But doesn't Cooks want a big contract also?He is an RFA. That makes a difference. You ttade player and contact and butler comes with the dynamic that you either pay him big money or it's a 1 year deal.
Giving our first and getting their second is only a trade down of about a dozen spots.
The last part says it all.Yes it is. You can have a different one and that is fine.
I am not saying we get fleeced if that is the trade I just think Butler should be good enough as is. To move down those 12 spots would make it a slight loss to me. Also as a fan of Butler and all he does it would be kind of insulting to need to throw in a kicker to move him.
Does PFF have any kind of run defense rating for CB's?
I'm concerned about the difference between Butler and Gilmore when it comes to tackling ability, especially if the secondary loses Logan Ryan in the coming days.

Butler > Gilmore by a mile.
Ryan Hannable is just pulling sh!t out of his ass. There is NO WAY the Pats trade the 32 for Cooks, let alone Butler and a pick. That would be LUDICROUS. God, for a F*cking WR,
