Bill O'Brien could be out in Houston.

I don't know that O'Brien would want to come back. He could end up with anoth head coaching gig.

He wouldnt be my first choice anyway. He came off as a bit of a ra ra type and a little hot headed to me when he was on hard knocks.

Bringing back Charlie Weiss on the other hand for one last run would be a baller move IMHO.
I'd rather Brady be Player Coach than have BOB.

BOB does not deserve to get fired if that is what you mean?

I reckon that I have to spell it out.

If BOB wins this post season game management might think that he is their guy and make concessions so not to lose him. Particularly winning with Orsewieller.

If BOB loses this post season game both sides will likely agree to part company.

They stuck him with Brock they should be kissing Bills feet right now. Two division wins with no qb, even in the afc south, is pretty damn impressive.

The off-season reports sure sounded like BOB was the one who pushed for Brock in the first place.

What made Bill O'Brien fall for Brock Osweiler?

And I liked BOB when he was here, but I think he's really done a poor job handling the QB situation. He hasn't had a good QB, but the ones he's had, he has handled poorly.

In 2014, BOB had Ryan Fitzpatrick as a starting QB. He signed a 2-year, $7.25M deal, and he would go on to have perhaps his finest season, finishing with a 95.3 RAT, but Mallett was behind him and I'm sure BOB wanted him to play. So they traded Fitzpatrick to the Jets for a late pick, where Fitzpatrick had another solid year with an 88.0 RAT. Meanwhile, Mallett and Hoyer fought it out for the starting job in 2015, with Hoyer winning, only to be replaced in the first game.

Hoyer was decent in 2014 as a starting QB in Cleveland, and got out to a good start going 6-3 with a 90.4 RAT over the first 9 games. But the pressure of Manziel Mania wore on him and as the season wore on, his play got worse while he constantly looked over his shoulder.

BOB signed him afterwards to a 2-year, $10.5M deal, he won the competition for starting QB. After Mallett stunk up the joint, Hoyer played really well for a stretch before fading late in the season, then having one of the most horrific, awful playoff games ever televised.

But for most of the season, Hoyer was a solid QB, and then BOB ran him out of town. Still, Hoyer would put up great numbers in Chicago in 2016, while the $72M man they got to replace him never came anywhere close to matching his production.

None of those QBs are good, and none are worth fighting to keep. But the QB situation went from good to okay to awful under BOB's watch, with his guys that he picked. He was screwing up the QBs long before Brock/Savage came up.

Even though O'Brien rolled the dice and lost on osweiler, let's not forget how he brought Houston from 2 wins to 9 wins.

Wins in the nfl may look easy to us, but they are so hard to get.

I would welcome him back in a heartbeat if he leaves Houston.

Why do people have a negative viuew of BOB? He may have gotten in Bradys face but Brady said BOB was right and I really don't think he was he one with the final call on Brock

Assuming that McDaniels leaves of course, which I think is a fairly safe assumption to make at this point.
O'Brien knows the environment and had success with it in the past. I don't know why anyone would be against the move, although I haven't read much of the thread. I can't imagine many candidates to be better qualified.

BOB is a good coach. There is nothing wrong with BOB. He has a crap GM to work with. In fact, if BB quit tomorrow and they were on the market for HC of the NEP, he'd be someone I'd want on the short list.

I am sure Brady said somewhere he would rather have a row than put up with passive aggressive ****, and that he likes BOB.

It seems that it is Daboll who will take over as OC from what we are reading, but I have no worries about BOB returning if Bill thinks that is for the best

I assume he would be third, behind josh and matt

The problem I have with this argument is that the Texans before BoB was not a total dumpster fire, a team like this years 49ers for example that you can't find 3 good players. They had a 2-14 season in 2013 but the previous seasons were 10-6 and 12-4. In 2013 they were in the final stretch of Brandon Schaub days at QB for them (stinking up the joint) and with Case Keenum being the other option and I believe at a certain point they just tanked for Clowney/Bridgewater. The division was already weak and the Colts won it with a 11-5 record.

It's been years that division is the worst in the NFL and BoB is doing enough to win with 9-7 records 3 years in a row, he is 27 - 21 in the worst division in the NFL and although the QB situation has not been ideal, he didn't handled it very well too. Many times he looked lost in the sidelines, this year the punter had to warn him to challenge a play in week 3 against the Patriots, that's just awful, last season their playoff game against the Chiefs, what was that?

I assume that too but I don't think we know that for certain.

I think BOB has solid credentials going for himself. What he took over at PSU was the worst of the worst. He had to change the culture of a disgusting, inhuman situation and got it back on track.

HOU...3 straight winning seasons, 2 straight playoff appearances with sketchy QB play is a impressive feat.

but you look at it and he has built or at least maintained a good defense and a decent offense outside of the Qb position, he really didnt handle last year well with his jerking between Hoyer and Mallet. Yes he has messed some things up but its his first NFL Head Coaching job and you cant expect he is going to be flawless
