Bill O'Brien could be out in Houston.

Anythings better than Osweiler, Savage and Weeden apparently, even unemployment

I don't know that O'Brien would want to come back. He could end up with anoth head coaching gig.

He wouldnt be my first choice anyway. He came off as a bit of a ra ra type and a little hot headed to me when he was on hard knocks.

Bringing back Charlie Weiss on the other hand for one last run would be a baller move IMHO.

Bill almost always seems to use in-house staff to promote to coordinators. Daboll is next man up it seems. I don't think BOB is done as a HC. He has had reasonable success (he's made the playoffs twice now, albeit a terrible division) despite horrid QBs.
BB brought JMcD back. Could it happen again if Josh leaves? I think it might. But so many head coaching vacancies already exist so I would think BOB would get one if he wanted it. Question is when he'd be able to declare. HOU being in the playoffs is a double edged sword.

Houston is making the playoffs in that joke of a division in spite of BoB not because of him.

I'm not sure Mcdaniels is going anywhere

The one thing I don't like about O'Brien and he's done this in Houston is take what the defense is giving them even though they're down. It reminds me of the rats/pats 2010 divisional game where we were down 2 scores and we were calling runs the whole time. Sometimes you need to find a way to successfully pass the ball even though they're playing the pass.

Rick Smith is the one who needs to go.

Exactly. I've brought this up with many Texans fans, and none can understand why he's still there.

I've tested Texans fans with this: think of the 15 most important players on your roster. Now, which of those players wasn't a high priced free agent or 1st round pick? It's rare when they even attempt an answer.

That's the truth. The Texans are built the wrong way. There's very, very few contributing players on their team that are late round picks or small contract free agent pickups.

If O'Brien is let go and Smith stays, (some wonder why he wasn't let go with Kubiak) then McNair proves himself as one of the dumbest owners in the NFL.

And the owner of this disfuntional management supported the Defamegate penalties.

After all, it couldn't be their own disfunctional management is what keeps the Texans from competing with the Pats.

Integrity!

That's too bad. They are a QB and emergency pack of steroids to Brian Cushing's house away from being a strong contender.

Yea my Texans buddy says the same thing. He says Smith is the Jeff Fisher of GMs.

Well, I'd argue that McNair is already one of dumbest owners in the NFL.

He's got some competition with Irsay and Haslem. I guess it shows that being a billionaire doesn't make you a genius

Woody is on the list. Jed York too.

How these guys walk, breathe and chew gum at the same time is beyond me.

They stuck him with Brock they should be kissing Bills feet right now. Two division wins with no qb, even in the afc south, is pretty damn impressive.

Obrien's major career accomplishment is riding Brady's coat tails.

Two ridiculous posts...

O'Brien took over a 2 win team and has led it to 9 wins, 3 years in a row, without having a QB. Also, given what O'Brien was able to achieve at Penn State, the notion that O'Brien's career accomplishment is riding Brady's coat tails is ludicrous.

So outside of running a Patriots offense that was essentially the same before his arrival and after his departure he can boast Marv Lewis/Jeff Fischer type accomplishments.

lol, hope that's sarcasm..

I have no idea why you're doubling down on your initial stupid post, but whatever floats your boat.

I don't like O'Brien at all. Didn't like him with the Patriots, especially. Didn't like the way he called plays. McDaniels is much more nimble, less stubborn.

One sequence I will never forget is the 2011 Super Bowl against the Giants. Patriots had the Giants reeling. 5 straight completions on the drive out of the spread. They get the ball down to FG territory, and BOB runs in a jumbo package. Giants gamble, run blitz, because they have nothing to lose. Stuffed for a yard loss on a run. This is what preceded the famous Welker incompletion. I blame BOB for getting too smart.
