Bill Belichick's Post Game Press Conference Transcript

I think this loss may be good for them. Bill sounded pissed in his presser. They may end up rolling for the rest of the season.

Love this dig against the NFL:

On if he had any idea of what the flag was for:

“There was no explanation given to me.”

None whatsoever?

“No. The officials ran off the field, and I didn’t see anything. I’ve gone through that before. The last time I tried asking an official a question about a call, that was the wrong thing to do. So I have no idea.”

I hope you're right, Ed.

While we're at it, I will gladly take your bet if you wish to back that prediction up

I think we lose 1-2 more games before the end of the season, with a decent chance at one of those coming in 6 days.

Hopefully if we do lose to Denver, we can run the last 5 as you say; but I still think that 4-1 after Denver for an overall 11-5 record may be more realistic. Probably just a difference of opinions though.

I don't think we have enough Q factor for the league to do us any favors. Brady is not enough. Perhaps a healthy Gronk at playoff time helps a bit but we're down a lot of sale-ability. No Wilfork...no Mayo...rookie WR's...dime store Welkers.

Nah...Brady's a few years from retirement so he won't get the same Balloon Ball Thrower dispensation like Peytie and his Welkerettes. It's ordained the HE have home field in the playoffs, Goodell's will be done.

Tonight we saw the league's backup plan to the SF Kaepernick meltdown...Cam Newton..."he's only 24 and a rising SUPERSTAR!!!":...yes, will the young, dynamic ,handsome, self deprecating, charismatic Cam fight through the playoffs to gain HIS first Super Bowl appearance...and incalculable revenue for the league in the process?

and against old war horse Peytie, the Ray Lewis of this year's NFL playoffs? Does anyone actually believe Manning plays another season if he wins the bowl this year??...c'mon..he's practically sitting next to Ray Ray right now.

Of course there's a dark horse matchup that EVERYONE thought was out of the question ...BUT...just LOOK...the Giants have suddenly become relevant...very very relevant...and the Jets?...despite being humiliated, tonight's Pats loss coupled with a Denver victory next weekend and a sudden Jets resurgent win over the Ravens, fitting the win one lose one meme the press is pushing down everyone's throats, and the possibility of the MOTHERLODE of all motherlode Super Bowls, a NY vs. NY matchup IN NY , has to be accounted for here. The Plan...and Plan B.

Teams like the Pats, the Saints, the Ravens, Pittsburgh, Cincy...they're all just fodder this season. You tell me...the Jets haven't beaten the Ravens in Baltimore in decades...they're deserved underdogs on their play alone but who rationally thinks they have a shot this weekend? and the G-men win again, the Jets pull out "the miracle!"..and what exactly are we looking at now?

Remember...Harbaugh Bowl was TRADEMARKED by the NFL before the start of last season. I think if the unthinkable happens and Manning gets injured, the league goes with plan B.... and you can all call me crazy again for thinking this league is scripted.

Then why do you watch Joe?

is there vid of this somewhere?

patriots.com/homepage has all the pressers. The transcript doesn't do the presser justice. You really have to see it. I don't like the look in BB's eyes. He knows something is up. I think this will ultimately lead him to not renew his contract or even retire before the current one is finished.

The refs should have more respect for one of the greatest coaches ever. I truly hope BB writes a no holds barred book after he retires, but I doubt he will.

Tom Curran offered an opinion today that there is/may be a connection between last night's ending and the Jets game ending and BB's relationship with the NFL, in general, and Goodell, in particular.

Link?

He might be onto something. BB coming out and say what he did after standing up there for huge stretches without questions being asked is very strange behavior for him. He even brought up Baltimore. Even the Pats PR manager asked him if he was OK.

of the many thoughts i have had over this, i can believe that the NFL does have it out for BB and takes it out on the team. Just way to many coincidences in tight games, less than 2 minutes left. \

Seems all to easy to believe.

I think Flo said it best.

Dude after what I saw last night, I don't think that you are crazy. I'm starting to think the same thing.

Don't have one. Shortly before 3:00, Michael Holley on WEEI mentioned it. I texted the show asking for some elaboration. I haven't heard any, but haven't been listening non-stop.

When I saw that presser, I thought Belichick was dying to be asked about the end of the game, but the first few questions were about other things, amazingly. It was Stacy James who, it seemed to me, anticipated that BB might want to get the conference over when, in fact, it seemed to me that Belichick was itching to unload.

Toucher and Rich said something similar. Persecuting BB seems a strange way to protect the shield. It will be a sad day for the NFL when he moves on.

And then there's the matter of playing a Monday night game on the road six days before hosting the Broncos.

Jeez man, that's some crazy speculation right there.

I think a lot of different stuff goes into his decision to continue coaching, most importantly the fact that he loves the game so much, along with wanting another ring.

If Belichick is going to hang it up due to having a no-call in a game where they stopped the opposition a total of 2 times, had a -2 in turnover differential, made a ton of mistakes including very serious and stupid personal fouls on both sides of the ball, missed craploads of tackles, gave up 8/11 third downs at one point, and allowed Newton to scramble past them in key situations...then it probably has a lot more to do with just not wanting to coach anymore.

I am quite sure that Bill Belichick realizes that our team played very poorly last night, even if we were on the wrong end of a no call that would've given us one more play. I don't think he's that thin skinned, actually far from it.

I'm thinking of producing a new reference tool for the English language.

The Goodellictionary....I think we need a reference book like this to understand today's NFL speak...

simultaneous...?s?m?l?t?n??s/
adjective

1.
occurring, operating, or done at different times.
"a simultaneous denial of all events in sequence"
synonyms: sequenced, happening at different times, confounding, conscienceless, coinky-dinky, uncoincident, misynchronous, desynchronized More

I understand it all perfectly now....get your Goodellictionary today...special price for Pats fans...$10,000 dollars per fan before being allowed into any NFL stadium in the country and of course the Jetdell game package for the NY Jets that includes no possible sales to any Pats fans at Jet home games ever again. It's a Goodellian world...and we only think we live in it.
