Big Ben open to retirement

I think he is just sending a message to Rooney like we are going no where with this coaching staff.

It doesn't seem logical from a salary cap or legacy point of view.

This isn't the front office doing the thinking.

In 2015, AZ was 13-3 and a QB away from being the favorite.

It's also coached by his ex- OC and they were very, very close. He was actually ready to munity when Arians wasn't retained.

Why AZ is not the looked at logical place for Jimmy G is a source of amazement because they are the most Super Bowl ready team needing a QB.

Besides, from what happened Friday..........what legacy angle looks inviting in the future in Pittsburgh? Do you think Sunday was "legacy building"?

fat, out of shape..it'a a shame

I think it's more a matter of him not wanting to do the immense amount of work it takes to get past Brady. I'm not saying he's lazy I just don't think his heart is into spending 90% of his time training and preparing, and that's essentially the commitment it would take to get to the level where he could beat Brady head to head. I thought it was odd to hear analysts talking about how Roethlisberger was playing his best football when his numbers on the road were poor and his athleticism looked the worst it has during his career. For the first time I felt like he was absolutely no threat to hurt teams when he escaped the pocket. He looked really heavy and slow and unless he dedicates himself completely to reversing it he's the one who is going to fall off the cliff. Personally I hope he keeps going because the Patriots really do need more challenges within the conference as QB play in the AFC is as weak as I have seen in years and years.

Well at his age you start to think... "you know with this whole football thing I am not getting the time to do the other things I want... Like sexually assault woman".

I could not wish him out of the league faster. Never forget!

Late last week I rewatched the 2013 game (55-31 Pats) when Ben had Bell as his RB (looked great in that game), Brown, Emmanuel Sanders and Jericho Cotchery as his WRs. It's a big dropoff from Sanders and Cotchery to Eli Rogers and either of the butterfingers playing the #3 WR spot. And can the Steelers really count on Martavius Bryant getting his #### together?

I don't blame Ben thinking about retirement. The offense has become Bell, Brown or Bust in 3 short years.

Regards,
Chris

He will be 35 start of next season. If you dont think you have a shot next 2 or 3 years then maybe you do hang it up...Hard to say.

Maybe when he asked Brady in Oct t if he could have his jersey to put in his office, not knowing they'd meet again in AFCCG, he knew it might have been his last time with TB.

Time is running out for Big Ben?

Found a clip of Big Ben applying for a new job....

OK, but remember when Earl Thomas said much the same right after breaking his leg?

I do think Ben is on the homestretch -- he's having more and more trouble staying healthy. But the timing of this statement seems more like "heat of the moment."

And, and remember, Thomas continued that "I seriously might retire" mentality for weeks after the injury.

Now he's said he's for sure coming back. I wouldn't put any stock into what Roethlisberger is saying. Seems like an emotional player that's deflated about a loss.

Big Ben is way too good to retire, lot of balls dropped Sunday night, and they were thrown well.

I hope he does not...

I disagree, I hardly consider that "throwing Tomlin under the bus". Sounds more like a generic "they beat us in all phases of the game" hat tip.

I think a QB saying that they didn't coach well enough is a big deal.

If Brady said that here it would be a story for weeks

Attention whore gonna whore. Wouldnt be suprised at this guy pulling a favre.

Take your time, Ben

Yep, he'll be back. In Ben's mind no often means yes...

Yep. I live here in the pittsburgh area and he got drilled yesterday on the radio for his performance sunday.. Which in ben's defense i thought was unfair because he was far from the problem. But i think this is also kind of his way of getting those people to kiss his azz again so he can feel special. Favre junior

“I’m going to take this offseason to evaluate, to consider all options" =

1. Is Brady coming back?
2. Is Tomlin coming back?

If no to both, see you in training camp.
If yes to either one, I might not come back.
If yes to both, watch out women of Pittsburgh.

Wouldn't be enough bandwith to fit all the "Brady’s thinking about it/I'm SCARED" threads.

...And "Belichick is losing the lockerroom" threads.
