BGC 2021 WR/PTP Thread

I'll use this thread to talk about and breakdown the upcoming 2021 WR class. This lot is just bonkers. We just had an unbelievable one last year but this class is just as good if not better.

I think this year's class might be a lil more diverse/versatile?
Giving it a quick look over a few things jump out ... Size, athleticism & route running are all really impressive as a collective.

I could be wrong but it seems like we have more size this year? Plenty of size & big bodies. Ridiculous amount of sudden prospects with quicks and legit speed. Real 4.4 speed to go along with made you miss moves.

Top heavy & very deep, it'll be one of the better classes next year for sure. I could see ten top 50-60 picks. This league is being infused with a ton of young talent at the position and it's not letting up.

2nd for Smith, easy. Same for Wallace if his medicals are good. Smith would have been top 3-5 this year. Same for TW if he's healthy. Not as good a rr as Smith but Wallace has some real juice.

Sucks it sounds like he's hurting inside for real and possibly thinking about life after football.

He's an unreal talent. If he produced like he's been doing and had passed the combine I thought he's a first rounder all day. I think he would have been fighting for WR1 the past 2 years.

Not sure how I missed these ...

1)Bama boys are nasty. Someone reached out to me recently on Twitter about what traits I look for in certain positions. For WR I want basketball players. Guys that can't make in bball but some of their skills translate over to the field. Doesn't matter the size, different traits stick.

Smith and Waddle are filthy with the ball in their hands. Those two can cross you over like Doug Baldwin. Make you miss and have legit 4.4 speed. Maybe faster in Waddles case.

Two bigger guys, Imatorbhebhe & Terry. Imatorbhebhe is supposed to have a 47.5 vert?? Idk but anything > 40 is nuts and plenty of air. He really knows how to use his body at the catch and top of his route. Very physical and he looks 215. Imatorbhebhe reminds me of Dani at times.

Terry is supposedly up to 220-225? And he's a burner. I can't wait to see how he looks on the field.

In really dk about Ross and where his head is at after the injury. I didn't get good vibes but it's so early. You would need to see him move, medicals and make a decision. I hope he recovers bc I was a big fan.

Its almost impossible to get hands on Smith or Waddle. Again they're like PG's in basketball. Just water bug quick. Very crisp rr. Watch him off the line. Feet so clean no wasted steps. Even on hesi-moves. Love the stack on Stingley in the first clip. Stingley is widely regarded as CB1 but I wouldn't write that in stone. Smith should have an advantage being the older player but I thought he got the better of him all game.


Him and Waddle both have that patience to their game that really puts DBs in a bind. With the spacing in college it's almost impossible to covers these guys. Can hit you with hesi-moves, stop/start bc their acceleration is insane. Dude made half the D look silly.


Really nice rr here on out/up. Wins it early heading to the flat and causes the DB to react. Once he does and has to come back down its over. Most sports are about effort - mental & physical toughness & misdirection.


Going up against NFL comp here. Great job at selling outside to gain inside leverage. Nice job creating space leaning in. I miss watching Tua throw in breaking routes.

I wouldn't mind, if we draft early in the first, to get one of Smith, Waddle or Chase. (Of course if they stay healthy and show consistency in this upcoming season.)

There are times I see a bit of wasted initial step but his releases, stem, use of varied speeds to separate are legit. Brugler compared him to Allen & Thomas. I see A LOT of Allen, Diggs, Thielen ... All great guys to be associated with. If he's 6'1 - 6'2 / 210 - 215 and runs a 4.5 - 4.55 he should be a top 30-40 lock. Esp if he really takes it upon himself to get in the best shape of his life. He's only 19 or just turned 20.
