DRAFT BGC 2021 Pre-Draft/Patriot-Type Prospect(s) thread

@reamer this is a decent example of some of his issues.
Explodes but gains no depth from that step. Almost a half step and just comes up too high for me. Makes it too easy for Brown and just invites him to his chest.

I think we should continue to over think things at the WR position ;)
(we already knew this)

In all seriousness the Harry pick is encouraging, to me, at least. We went a little bit away from our comfort zone. Hasn't worked out but that doesnt mean we should stop trying or try to improve on choices, process, eval ....
Before our approach was ... Check these boxes from a profile pov. Look at guys who flashed/performed but never dominated. Some underachievers in a way. Think they fit the system, they'll find their place. Brady.

You really can't over think this position imo.

Might be DT3

DT2

DT1

Actually not a bad group. Barmore & Brown have some potential if they continue to put it together. Nixon seems like a very solid player that has some upside but he's very complete. Needs to capitalize a little more but traits and effort show up a lot. Just see a steady player.

some depth as well . 10-12 solid options 3-T incl . dont know what draftnicks are complaining about - its a rotational position anyway

It's not that bad a class at all. Just no game wreckers imo. Lots of disruptors though. It's a good class.

I really believe he could play both tackle and guard positions. Once he gains some muscle & more experience and he's a pro bowl player imo. Versatile, ++ run blocker that can do it all - uproot & generate movement. Fire out his stance get on you in a flash. Creates nice angles. Can reach, generate good enough torque. Wall/seal off the defenders. Easy climber, patient. He can and will fly down field escorting ball carriers. Plays with feet and hips first.
Very smooth in pass pro. Mirror ability with light active feet, fluid hips. Plays with consistent leverage. Active, effective hands.

Could improve balance & strength. Not a lot of flaws you can't work with, hide or fix/turn into a +. Live his attitude on & off the field. Football player that loves what he does. Again I see a lot of versatility as well.

Maybe give Keene a kick in the butt?

A lot of Draft capital was invested in TE last yr so id guess BB will give them at least one full off/preseason.
But its time to get this fixed seriously if they want to move the ball w avg QB. I hope for FA though but drafting another one def. an option.
Hard to believe what a poor job he did on one of his fav positions over last 3 yrs..

Tremble is a beast in terms of blocking. I definitely think he could play FB as well. More creative with him the better.

And yea that's where I'm at. Fix the problem. I know we spent a lot of capital but ultimately unless the players give you a reason not to draft someone early. I think all options are on the table.

I think he's a late day 2/early day 3 player for sure.

informative article about Zach Wilson and Scheme fits

"It got to the point that BYU would run their wide zone play-action looks, but just give Wilson vertical routes to read and throw, without filling the middle of the field at all" ... "

I've brought this up for months now (Lance too, in fairness). He has issues working the MOF, both pre/post snap. I'm just not as articulate or as smart as Ben lol.

I don't really subscribe to the smaller QB's having trouble reading the MOF bc of their height though. As he brought up. And I'm not sure he's disqualified from running a Shanahan type scheme tbh. Maybe it's not the best fit but with some tailoring (which really has to be done for everyone) to his specific needs I think he definitely could. I think w/e system he's running will have some mesh, some influences from different schemes in all honesty.
