@BaconGrundleCandy draft night...it's pick 3 ... Mac Jones is picked. What is going on in your beautiful mind at that moment. In your opinion..should BB begin making calls then and what spot do you think they are in talks with. Lastly...in your very informed opinion..taking what you may think BB might do out of the picture...who do you want?

been seeing barmore fall in mocks a lot more recently.. he was going top 15 for awhile in all kinds of mocks i tried, but noticed lately hes falling back into 2nd round

Zaven Collins is another i see starting to fall out of 1st into 2nd

So hard to predict who will go where, etc.. but it sure is fun to do the mocks!
From my very unprofessional research I've gathered a majority of Barrimore's recent tape shows a lazy player...only turned it on later in season under bright lights..which can be viewed as 2 ways right:

1) big game player ..goes through the motions rest of the time

2) only cares about the tape/game if money is on the line.

If it's option one might be worth the risk to coach some consistency into him.

If it's option 2 - why not go after the "adam butler" underdog option who will grind hard to prove his worth any chance he gets.

Who does bacon like from the QBs? I am a mac jones fan. I am hoping the 49ers go Fields.

I don't know I want his opinion in it. I'm ok with lance, fields or Jones BUT would not be overly upset with Mills/Mond so long as we we were agressive on our other picks .

Hoping that Miami does not trade #6 to a QB needy team (Washington, Bears, Denver), to screw the Patriots over.
It would be a super smart move for Dolphins to prevent Pats from getting either Fields or Lance and pick up extra draft picks to do so.

I don’t necessarily want us to draft him, but one name that could be added to your list is Travis Etienne. The offense has upgraded in so many ways, but still lacks true playmakers and Etienne is definitely that. Good character guy, tons of speed and is becoming a quality receiving option as well

I believe the reason they drafted Sony over Nick Chubb is that they wanted a guy like CMC or Kamara who was an equal threat catching the ball and running it. Obviously that didn’t pan out fully.

Whoever is at QB, be it Cam or a rookie, the Pats are going to run the ball a lot. Don’t want an RB that high, but a trade down or if he is there at 46? Etienne makes some sense on paper.

Absolutely. I'm talking to Atlanta. Cinci isn't know for trading and wants a big name player. Mia will block us or take us to the cleaner. Detroit might be too late. If Fields & Lance are there at 4, I'm definitely on the phone with Atlanta.
15 - 2022 1st, 2022 2nd and a 5th.

Couple guys I wouldn't mind at all. Realistic early & mid round guys.
WR -Bateman-Waddle, Darden, Powell

OT - Jenkins, Darrisaw, Radunz, Brown

IOL - Meinerz, Cleveland, Dalman, Smith

LB - Barnes, Werner, Mcgrone

TE - Tremble, Davidson

QB - Lance/Fields, Mills, Newman, Mond, Hammond

RB - Harris, Mitchell, Doaks, Evans

DB - Stokes, Newsome, Robinson, Grant, Moehrig, Wiggins, Molden

Rush - Bashman, Sample, Turner, Oweh

IDL - Nixon, Brown, Tufele, Tonga, Togiai

If Fields drops to the 6th spot, I would not rule out Miami taking him.

If they like him. Miami might have dropped figuring one of Lance / Fields will be there, and if they liked both equally, it was smart of them to move down.

After the top guys, I'm going to be very interested in Newman's career. He has a lot of good attributes, and if he had played in Lance's conference and excelled, I wonder if he'd be in consideration for the 1st round.

OL Jake Curhan #71 Cal (6’6-323>316-33“-5.45-1.89-8.07-BP:15)

So let me add some comments here:

1. Colours are tiers approx. but there is a significant gap between 1-2 and Jenkins in a sense that id only take Sewell or Slater at #15 bc that would be just too much value there even if that also means moving on from my beloved Wynn. I like Jenkins a lot but would only consider him if i traded down to the bottom of 1st and picked up 2nd or next yr 1st. In this case i can afford to keep Wynn and have Jenkins as top swing T+G year one - or have an option to move on from either Wynn or Mason at the end of TC or during the season if good trade offer comes up.

2. Darrisaw and Cosmi have the tools to be at least solid NFL OL but have a few more questions than the top 3. Darrisaw could be dominant NFL player but has some scary lazy attitude all over the tape while Cosmi has some work to do at tackle tech but with strong guard versatility should be a safe pick and could be a steal for someone if he drops to second round.

3. Next group are either guys with solid tape, safe G versatility but lesser upside, athleticism or higher upside guys with more significant question marks. The only exception is Spencer Brown. Everything about him screams take him before anybody else does but he has no useful college tape to further support this playing at such low level of competition. He was by far the best, most dominant OL at Senior Bowl and he seems to be making big steps from playing TE to dominant OL force. His Pro Day numbers were off the charts & would not be surprised at all if he goes in the 1st round.
Walker Little is another one who looks like a born NFL LT but with more Q re inj. history.
Radunz is a bit lower here than most boards. I like him but i just don't see him as either sure thing or dominant NFL player. As said earlier id be intrigued to add him as swing T, jumbo TE and see how much strength and power he can add and how much versatility he can add by trying him at center. But would not use #46 for this with what i already have on the roster and other options at OL in this draft.
Leatherwood and Carman have shown NFL strength and are safer picks bc they offer strong guard option.
One of this group could be a good option at the bottom of 3rd. Real pity #77 was stolen.

So these are 11 realistic starters at tackle which is a lot. You can add Vera-Tucker and ****erson who can step up as well. With last yr and this class the NFL OT landscape is changing quite dramatically.

4. From the next group who are well worth using a draft pick i really like Hainsey and Christensen for NE. Hainsey is a less athletic Thuney offering solid play at all 5 positions and Christensen is a high character solid OL that looks like a solid top end backup at 4 positions that you could trust stepping in starting. Sort of like Karras but with higher value T+G versatility.

With both starting OTs only signed for 2021 and inj. history id like to take advantage of this OL class.

These guys always catch my attention. + run defender, rush player, you can move around - off the ball. Tested out explosive in a few areas.
Former off the ball LB coming down to the los. Playing EMLOS (end man line of scrimmage) or open - LEO for Texas.
Non-stop motor. Relentless at times. + secondary effort chasing down broken down plays, screens etc. Coaches & players have nothing but good things to say and back up his practice habits, energy. Loves football.
Jump is inconsistent at times but you get plenty of explosive reps. Still learning the position so you have to give him a little time there. So much of this comes from experience.
Gives you a little power. Nice stab & swim, long-arm. Can swim and cross face inside. Almost 34 inch arms at 6'4 255 so length & size are there to utilize consistently. Perfect for manipulated rushes - stunts.
Good run defender that can stack n shed. Quick jolts, active eyes and athletic ability let me make plays wherever the play is. Front/Back side - chase & pursuit. His recognition has improved each year. Starting to diagnose in a hurry. Whether its using his hands, speed or eyes he got some potential as a really good run defender. Can cut down the angle outside.

Footwork has to improve on the move. First few steps will hurt him too much at times. Could be more efficient would allow him to stand his ground, hold a strong base.

Isn't a power player that can move, re-set OL'm. Needs to get stronger overall but definitely in his lower/core.

Obviously needs experience. Especially when it comes to angles, space in the run game. A little would go a long way here imo.

Wait, you think that players falling in mocks made by wannabe GMs is actually meaningful in terms of what will happen next week?

wtf is your problem?

i was taken back the other day when you jumped all over me with insults, etc.. wondering wtf that was all about, so just dropped it and moved on, especially after reading several of your recent posts, which include verbal insult barrages towards other posters as well

Then you come to a thread where we're people who are interested in the upcoming draft, amateurs and enthusiasts alike, to learn about and figure out this crazy draft process... and you again come to s*** on one of my comments that is merely pointing out patterns im seeing when doing tons and tons of mocks using multiple sources, rankings etc..

no one knows whats going to happen during the draft, outside of maybe the top 10-15 picks

you seem like a real straight shooter there, big guy. Your **** is getting pretty old, pretty quick tho

Tell you what, since you seem to be so f***ing sure of yourself, why don't you give us your mock draft right now of where all the players will go... so we can laugh at it like you do to others, for no apparent reason whatsoever

I hope you dont mind me adding this here as well - as one of the better big boards out there i think it can be useful to our big board discussion

First noticeable thing is ****erson at #8. This should not be too big of a surprise . there are some (rare) others that have him as possibly even best OL in this draft and reports are NFL loves him. I wanted to ask before how come you don't have him on Pats Board? Of all top OL prospects he is most versatile (can play all 5), experienced, battle tested and as BB guy as it gets..

Its nice to see someone likes Nixon even more than me :)
I know this board is OL/DL friendly - which is refreshing - but still.. Eichenberg and Forsythe in top 30 is quite a stand.

Its interesting they are also low on edge class (Justis fav position) but some teams will again draft them much higher than projected.
I agree Paye is the relatively clear #1 esp for NE and the only one id consider at #15.
Weaver as #3 edge is interesting as well - i was surprised to see him so low elsewhere and think he could be one to consider for NE if he indeed is still on the board in the 3rd. I wonder what was the reasoning to leave him off your board?

Makes sense to see Parsons and Collins closer together. Id prob take Collins over Parsons for NE even wo off-field Qs..

Definitely not go for it

Just think we'd have to invest a top 40 pick to get him and not sure that's in the cards for us. I probably should have him on there though bc he's everything we like & look for. Tough trying to stay around 100 prospects.

IDL1 for me

Big-time. Forsythe is a project in the run game and needs to improve parts of pass pro as well. Eichenberg would be an outlier of sorts going that early with 32 inch arms. I really like him though, just not that early.

Didn't hit the testing #'s we usually go for at that position.

You could say the same thing for Humphrey. With extensive injury history and current injury ****erson can certainly “fall“.
I see him as true 4 positions player at least . id trust him at RT more than i would Vera-Tucker at LT..
Can't keep the good man out :)

Small case for big Spencer Brown

The first thing that jumps out are his amazing Pro Day results.
Spencer Brown logged a Relative Athletic Score of 10 — tied for the highest ever at offensive tackle.
Here comparison we can maybe better understand:

Solder - 6’7-319-10“-35“5-4.96-1.72-4.34-7.44-BP:21-VJ:32--BJ:110
Brown - 6’8-314-11“-35“--4.94-1.69-4.40-6.96-BP:29-VJ:31“5-BJ:117

So a stronger, quicker, more agile Solder by these numbers. (both ex TEs btw)

But what impresses me more is his progress. From his college tape (although virtually unchallenged) to his Senior Bowl, working with Joe Staley over last 7 months, he already made huge progress from small school project to serious prospect. He was growing further as a prospect/player in front of SB coaches each and every day and looked a beast by the end of the week - here 7v7:

And here a reminder how Solder looked in college:

Who are you taking?

Brown & Brown or Brown for Brown next yr w some tailoring on the side of Trent's outfit & he's good to go :)

You definitely got me there. I can't exclude one and not the other. Im telling you it's not easy to keep it around 100 prospects. I have to update it again soon when I get a chance.

Him and Cosmi graded out almost the same and both have a lot to learn from technique pov. Specifically for Brown his base and feet are a problem too often imo. He's so big I can imagine it might be a problem but he gets caught playing too tight, footwork ain't bad really but he wins so often with pure talent & muscle/size his base isn't sturdy enough. The guys he faced couldn't really counter or just weren't big enough to make him pay consistently but he gets moved at times. That and the on obvious, token "he plays too high" , which he does and it's a mess.

I love his movements, awareness/recognition and hands though. Like Cosmi he has + grip strength that ends a lot of rushes before they start. He's a fun one for sure. You check out Josh Ball?
