Bedard - Pats NOT IN on lamar Jackson....

Aging well here. Glad we didn’t risk hitting Mac’s feelings by signing Lamar to an offer sheet.
was trying to find your post in the thread advocating for the signing of Lamar Jackson... couldn't seem to find it

If you wanna play the "Told ya so game" make sure you actually, you know, told someone

This is the best opportunity of Lamar’s career, no great teams to beat in the AFC and the most talented team he’s ever had around him… the time is now.

This is only the second playoff win and first AFC Title game of his career… LJ truthers should be careful about taking a victory lap too soon.

Obviously this is a necro thread - but how BAD does the decision not to draft Lamar Jackson in 2018 and then when given a second chance pass on him in free agency look now?
As bad as signing a 32 year old washed up Cam Newton to replace Tom Brady and then drafting Mac Jones at #15

We could have drafted Jordan Love

LJ lasted until the 32nd pick because 31 teams, including the Patriots didn't think he was worth a 1st round pick.

No team was going to sign Lamar but Baltimore. Under no circumstances could the Patriots have afforded to get him.

Didn't the Ravens give him a 250 million dollar contract? What alternative reality were they not matching any offer.

Everyone thought they were crazy moving up for him. Plus, I don't think he is as successful here with a defensive HC.

This.

Lamar was coming off consecutive season ending seasons. And everyone thought the Ravens overpaid.

Good on him for proving everyone wrong thus far. But one bad game in the next two will change the narrative pretty quickly.

This thread has all the usual ReAl PaTs FaN suspects. Berate any poster critical of the disaster that was Belichick and Mac. Trying to shut posters down or get them banned.

Now, realizing they were wrong, wrong, and wrong, some have resorted to attacking Kraft and Mayo.

A 180-degree turn: well it's perfectly valid to question things that haven't happened yet, but it wasn't when things were actually turning to ****.

****ing hypocrites. You know who you are.

wheres your post in this thread calling it out. saying we should make a run at him?

be specific.

Some of these "real pats fans" are just Belichick fans

Because he won the second playoff game of his career when his defense allowed 3 points?

Sounds like Brady in that last Super Bowl.
Ravens gonna win ANOTHER Super Bowl this season. Different QB from the last time they won. It's an amazing accomplishment.

You making a prediction is not an accomplishment. The accomplishment was Jackson second lifetime playoff win.

Who will beat the Ravens? A banged up Bills team? An anemic offensive Chefs team? Another poor match up for the Niners? Lions team with no defense?

I think they lose next week.

It was still the right decision to draft a RB who was useful in 2018 rather than a QB standing on the sidelines. They wouldn't have won in 2018 without the running game and posters would be saying the Pats haven't won since 2016.

I highly doubt the ravens were gonna let lamar walk. My guess is they were playing hardball and getting an idea of what he would get elsewhere and wouldve matched whatever offer. Then when nobody bit at all they had even more leverage in negotiations. Perfectly played on their end

A dime a dozen running back is worth more than a franchise QB?

NO. A dozen times NO.

Let's be real any bang average RB signed off free agency would have presented equal value to Sony "overdrafted' Michel.

Michel was never worth a 1st round pick, looking back at his career, and factually most RBs in the NFL now are never worth a 1st round pick. The Michel pick was again the result of dinosaur draft thinking and the lack of value in that pick, as well as similar boneheaded picks, such as taking a guard in round 1 - Cole Strange, well it's self-evident.

Hell Antowain Smith gave us a couple of good playoff games, would that justify taking him with a 1st round pick? NO.

We signed him as a free agent and he was worth the money, but you don't waste precious draft resources on that position when other actual premium positions can and should be addressed earlier.
